When we're not adapting as we should, the body often responds with stiffness, aches, and pains. Your nervous system, which acts as your body's computer, keeps you in check as you go about your daily activities including work, play, recreation,

etc. Yet it can be compromised when accumulated stresses and injuries cause the bones of your spine to shift out of proper alignment. The chiropractic solution is to adjust your spine into it's best, possible position to reduce or eliminate nervous system interference. In turn, your body can regain its ability to repair, right itself, and adapt better to whatever life throws at you. People of all ages, from newborn to senior, can benefit from chiropractic care. Summer is in full sw-ING, which means popular activities like swim-ING, golf-ING, and camp-ING can lead to muscle and joint pain, especially around the spine. KAYAKING TIPS AND TRICKS:

Kayaking can be a great way to spend your summer days on the lake, but with all the paddling can come stress and strain on your muscles. Consider these tips to help prevent the pain 🛶☀️:

🌊 CARRYING 🌊

Kayaks can be heavy, so be sure to lift with your legs, not your back. Consider opting for a lightweight kayak, and don't hesitate to ask a friend for help if needed!

🌊 SET UP 🌊

Adjust your kayak so that your feet can stretch straight out with only a slight bend. Also, try to sit up straight with a relaxed spine, and avoid hunching.

🌊TAKE BREAKS AND STRETCH🌊

Don't forget to take breaks, especially during long kayaking trips. Sitting in one position for a long time can be tough on your body, so take this time to move around and refuel. When stretching, try child's pose, which is great for your shoulders and back. To take it one step further, try a modified child's pose, which involves walking your hands to one side and pushing your hips to the opposite heel.

The relaxing sounds of the forest and delicious campfire meals are some of the reasons we love to camp. While camping is the perfect adventure to escape the city, properly preparing for your trip can ensure you have a seamless experience and avoid injury while enjoying the great outdoors. 🏕️🔦☀️

⛺Plan Ahead!⛺
Don't forget to test your gear before your trip! It's important to know how to set up your tent and use your equipment, and to check for any needed repairs or refills before heading into the wilderness.

⛺Technique Technique Technique!⛺
When camping, it's important to maintain a neutral curve in your spine, engage your core, and bend at the hips and knees when lifting or setting up. You can use a kneeling mat or towel to protect your knees as you work.

⛺Don’t Be a Hero!⛺
When packing and unpacking camping gear, take several small trips rather than one oversized load to protect your back and maintain good posture. Keep these tips in mind for a relaxing and fun nature getaway!
