💉 LIP FILLER 101: What To Do + What Not To Do 💋
Thinking about getting lip filler or already booked? Save this post to make sure your results are smooth, symmetrical, and long-lasting. 👇
✨ DO’s
✔️ Avoid Advil, fish oil, vitamin E, and alcohol for 3 days before and after – These thin your blood, which can increase bruising and prolong healing.
✔️ Tell your injector if you’ve ever had cold sores – Filler can sometimes trigger an outbreak, so we may recommend an antiviral to prevent it.
✔️ Apply ice gently (wrapped, not directly) to reduce swelling and ease discomfort.
✔️ Expect some dryness, tenderness, or mild lumpiness – This is totally normal and can last up to 5 days as your lips settle.
🚫 DON’Ts
✖️ Skip the gym, saunas, and anything that makes you sweat for 24–48 hours – Heat and increased blood flow can make swelling worse.
✖️ No dental work for 2 weeks – Pressure on the face or mouth can displace filler.
✖️ Avoid hot or spicy foods for 24–48 hours – Your lips will be sensitive, and heat can irritate or inflame the area.
✖️ Don’t panic if they look uneven at first – Swelling is rarely perfectly symmetrical. Trust the process!
🫦 Pro tip: Keep your lips hydrated and follow your injector’s post-care advice. Results typically settle around 2 weeks in.
