Today is Bell Let’s Talk Day — a national moment to reduce stigma, amplify stories, and push for meaningful change in mental health.
At George Hull Centre, we see every day how early support can change the trajectory of a young person’s life.
Let’s keep talking — and let’s keep investing in the services that help families thrive. 💬💚

As conversation around “Blue Monday” picks up, it’s a good reminder that many families and young people struggle with low mood during the winter.
While the idea of one “saddest day of the year” isn’t evidence-based, the feelings people experience are real.
If you or a young person in your life needs support, reaching out early makes a difference.
Small steps — structure, connection, movement, routine — can help lighten the load.

💙 Blue Monday is often described as the “most depressing day of the year” — but it’s also an important reminder of how much adults matter in supporting children’s mental health.

📺 speaks with George Hull Centre's Leticia Garcia and Upasana Krishnadev about how adults can play a pivotal role in helping children and youth navigate emotional challenges — especially during the winter months, when stress, isolation and low mood can intensify.

🗣️ Their message is clear:
✔️ Check in early and often
✔️ Listen without judgment
✔️ Notice changes in behaviour or mood
✔️ Help connect kids to the right supports when needed

🧠 Mental health support doesn’t always start with a diagnosis — it often starts with a conversation.

This , let’s remember that showing up, listening and caring can make a lasting difference for children and youth.

Today is National Human Trafficking Awareness Day in Canada — an important reminder that youth who have experienced trauma, isolation, or instability are at greater risk of exploitation.
Trauma-responsive care, strong community supports, and early intervention are essential to keeping young people safe.
We stand with partners across Canada in raising awareness and supporting prevention efforts that protect vulnerable youth.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who became a monthly donor this year. 💚

This holiday season, community care made a lasting difference. 💙
Through the George Hull Centre’s Family Gift Match, 144 families were matched with generous donors who helped ease financial stress during the holidays—providing gifts chosen with care and a turkey to help families share a nourishing meal.
For families facing mental health challenges and the rising cost of living, this program offers more than gifts. It offers dignity, relief, and the reassurance that they are not alone.
Thank you to every donor and volunteer who helped make the season brighter. Your compassion continues to change lives.
