Let's take a look back on an important historical day - these photos show the announcements in 1964 that there would be an Association in Ontario for Speech-Language Pathologists & Audiologists. Today, April 1, 2022, OSLA finds a new beginning within Speech-Language & Audiology Canada Just as we did back in 1964, we rise to the challenge of what our professions need and make the choice to do something new. There is more to this story. Together we are Stronger!

The Concussion Priority Setting Partnership is is a project that aims to identify the top 10 questions that patients, caregivers and clinicians have about concussion in order to guide research funding. They are now in Phase 2 of the project which is an online survey asking people with concussion, their families, caregivers and healthcare professionals to select, from a list of 59 summary questions, the 10 questions that they feel are the highest priority to be answered by research. This critical phase of the project will give those people with personal or professional experience with concussion the opportunity to have their say in setting the future direction of concussion research. Take a few minutes to answer this survey and share.

We aim to shape the future of research in concussion by bringing patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals together to identify and prioritize the top 10 unanswered questions about concussion.

The Ontario Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (OSLA) applauds the Ontario Human Rights Commission (OHRC) on the results of the Right to Read Inquiry. In particular, we support the emphasis on evidenced-based approaches to reading intervention programs and advocate that every Ontario school board has these interventions available to all students who require them. We look forward to learning more and next steps.
