Back acupuncture is a game changer for desk bodies 💻
Hours at the computer can lead to tight shoulders, stiff backs, and built-up tension.

Acupuncture along the back helps release tight muscles, improve circulation, and support nervous system balance, so you can move and feel better after long workdays.

Feeling the desk-job strain? Your back will thank you!

What is Gan Cao (甘草)? 🌿
Known as licorice root, Gan Cao is one of the most commonly used herbs in Traditional Chinese Medicine and for good reason.

In TCM, Gan Cao is known for its ability to:
✨ Harmonize herbal formulas
✨ Tonify Qi (especially Lung & Spleen Qi)
✨ Moisten the Lungs and relieve cough
✨ Clear heat and ease toxicity
✨ Reduce spasms and alleviate pain

Often called “the great harmonizer,” Gan Cao is a foundational herb found in many classic TCM formulas and is a staple in herbal education.

Facial Cupping for Natural Glow ✨ 😊
Facial cupping uses gentle, plastic cupping tools to lift the skin, encourage micro-circulation, and support lymphatic flow. Unlike body cupping, these cups use light suction and glide smoothly across the face to avoid marks while stimulating fresh blood flow and collagen activity.

Facial cupping may help:
✨ reduce puffiness
✨ brighten the complexion
✨ soften tension in the jaw + face
✨ support lymphatic drainage
✨ improve skin tone and circulation

It’s a relaxing, non-invasive technique rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine that focuses on rejuvenation from the inside out.

Why TCM Bodywork is Different!
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, bodywork goes far beyond relaxation. These therapeutic techniques are designed to influence the flow of Qi, address imbalances, and support the body’s natural ability to heal itself.

Treatments such as Tuina and acupressure are traditionally used to:
✨ reduce discomfort
✨ support circulation
✨ release stagnation
✨ encourage whole-body balance

TCM views the body as an interconnected system, so bodywork is used to harmonize, not just loosen muscles.

Experience TCM bodywork at the Eight Branches Teaching Clinic and discover a holistic approach to wellness.

Winter Congee 🌿
A simple, warming congee is a classic dish in Chinese Medicine — especially during colder months. It’s easy to digest, soothing, and often used to support the immune system and overall vitality.

Here’s a simple base recipe:
Ingredients:
• ½ cup white rice
• 6–8 cups water (or broth)
• pinch of salt
Optional additions:
• ginger for warmth
• garlic for immune support
• scallions or herbs for flavor
• vegetables or protein for nourishment

Directions:
Simmer rice and water together on low until soft and creamy. Add herbs or toppings of choice.

Comforting, nourishing, and gentle on the digestive system — congee is the perfect winter bowl. ✨

Acupuncture for Your Feet? Yes! 👣
Many people think of acupuncture for the back or shoulders, but your feet play an important role in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Several major meridians begin or end in the feet, making this area a powerful point of access for balancing the entire body.

Foot acupuncture may help support:
✨ digestion
✨ stress + sleep
✨ circulation
✨ menstrual health
✨ overall energy

By working with these meridian pathways, acupuncture on the feet can influence systems throughout the body, not just the area being treated.
