At Thornhill Medical, our researchers continue to unlock innovations in oxygen-related science and precision control of arterial blood gases, with the potential to transform diagnosis and treatment.
Among its latest achievements, Thornhill Medical’s R&D team has published an article in the American Heart Association STROKE journal, comparing the sensitivity and specificity of MRI resting perfusion metrics with cerebrovascular reactivity (CVR) -- and revealing valuable implications for assessing hemodynamic impairment, measured using precise control of arterial CO2 and O2.
The study is co-authored by Thornhill researchers Su Sayin, PhD, Olivia Sobczyk, PhD, James Duffin, PhD, and Thornhill director and co-founder Joseph A. Fisher MD.
But that’s not all. We’re also celebrating Su Sayin, who earned her PhD this year. First joining Thornhill as a research volunteer back in 2020, Su has since earned her Master’s and now her PhD, authoring and co-authoring several articles and becoming an important member of our research team.
As Thornhill Medical Director of Research, Olivia Sobczyk, PhD says, “Over the years, Su has been an integral member of the research group, advancing our hypoxia imaging research and aiding in our CVR clinical work. We are extremely proud of her!”
Congratulations, Dr Sayin!
