Indy was diagnosed with the most common form of bone cancer affecting dogs, osteosarcoma.  But where osteosarcoma most commonly affects the leg, Indy’s affected his jawbone.  Indy’s cancer necessitates both surgery (removing a segment of his jawbone) and chemotherapy.  After all of that, Indy celebrated with his family by ringing the bell with the news that his cancer was still in complete remission!  Way to go Indy!!

Roy was very sick when he first presented to TVEH.  In fact, he spent several days in the ICU while doctors tried to figure out what was wrong with him.  Ultimately, Roy was diagnosed with a form of lymphoma affecting his liver and spleen.  Roy’s family wasted no time starting treatment!  First Roy got to leave the ICU and returned home; the next time he stepped foot into TVEH he was the bouncy puppy his family remembered!  Over the next 6 months, Roy continued chemotherapy and never lost his bounce!  Here is Roy getting to ring the bell with his dad having completed chemotherapy and still being in remission!  Congratulations to Roy and his family!!

Milo is a big personality packaged in a small dog!  Diagnosed with lymphoma localized to his re**um, Milo sailed through 6 months of chemotherapy with little to no adverse effects.   Dogs with this form of lymphoma necessitate aggressive treatment but can experience prolonged survivals.  Milo quickly entered a remission which is where he stands today!  He’s even had one recheck appointment since graduating!   A huge congratulations to Milo and his family!

A common side effect of chemotherapy in people is hair loss.  A common question we get is, will my dog or cat lose their hair with chemotherapy.  While there are some exceptions, most dogs and cats do not lose their hair.  That deserved a sigh of relief for Marco, because look at those lashes!  This handsome guy was diagnosed with a mast cell tumour that necessitated chemotherapy in its treatment.  Marco sailed through treatment and was determined to remain in complete remission following treatment!  Congratulations to Marco and his family!

Bentley wears a harness that says, “Out of Control”.  Well, it’s not referring to his cancer!  Diagnosed with an aggressive mast cell tumour, Bentley’s treatment necessitated both surgery and chemotherapy which has kept his cancer very much in control!  That is where Bentley remains today after ringing the bell with his family and housemate (harness reading “Spoiled”).  Congratulations to Bentley and his family and we are so thrilled you can continue your out-of-control ways at home after treatment!
