Anxiety Gone

Anxiety Gone And that’s what we’re here to help you with.

Hey, I’m your anxiety gal pal 💁🏼‍♀️
Probably needed a hug… built a safe space for us instead 💖
Real talk mental health, no shame, no fluff
Here to help you feel calmer, safer, and less alone 🇨🇦 Our mission is to offer support for people with mental health difficulties by providing them with a safe space online, coping tools, resources and soothing self-care. We approach mental health and wellness and self-help in a new light because let’s get serious, self care isn’t always bath bombs and spa dates (although, we do love both of those too!) Sometimes, it’s diving into shadow workin a journal or working through painful memories you’ve tried desperately to forget.

Are you a morning person or a night owl? 💁🏼‍♀️ I’m a “can’t get out of bed for the life of me cause no sleep is enough but once I do get out of bed, I’m energetic” type of person.

🙋‍♀️ Raise your hand if you have fearful thoughts.

Don’t let the bad thoughts get the best of you 💁🏼‍♀️✨
Here are some things to remember:

- You are not your thoughts
- Thoughts aren’t facts
- Thoughts alone cannot be dangerous
- Avoiding or fighting your thoughts will only drain you

If you want your brain to stop producing the thought, you have to direct your energy onto other things, and not the thought you want rid of.

Accept that it will be there for however long it’s going to be there, but, again, direct your energy onto other things, even if you don’t ‘feel like it’.

The same can be said for anxious symptoms.

One day at a time.
One anxious feeling at a time.

And eventually, you will be able to do everything you’ve ever dreamed of without being overwhelmed by these uncomfortable feelings.

But it starts now.
One day at a time.
One anxious feeling at a time.

You can do it. Small steps, babes 🩵✨

On another note, what’s your favourite cheer-up snack? (I need more ideas 😅)

Me after this weekend ✨💁🏼‍♀️ The build up before a busy weekend can feel so unbearable.

In these moments, I try to rely on gratitude.

I’m grateful I have places to go for Easter.

I’m grateful I have people to spend the holidays with.

I am grateful for all the delicious food I’m going to stuff in my face. 🫠

I would also be grateful to sit on my t***y butt in my comfort zone eating chocolate mini eggs all weekend as well, but to each their own.

Do you have any plans for this Easter weekend? 🐰🐣 Are you feeling more excited or anxious about them?

You know that thing your brain does late at night? Or all day long?

It pulls up a conversation from three years ago or an interaction from three days ago?

Something you said.
Something they said.
What did they mean by that?
Should you have said something different?
What if they're upset with you and just haven't told you yet?

Suddenly, you’re thrown into a spiral of distorted, negative thoughts that keep repeating and repeating, seemingly getting worse with each one?

That's an overthinking loop and it’s a trap so many of us get sucked into.

We’ve been “trained” by previous experiences to constantly scan for danger, and never quite got the memo that the danger passed… and our brain can relax.

It’s not even the actual thoughts that are so unbearable.
It’s how exhausting the entire process it.

The loop doesn't just replay what happened.
It edits.
It adds.
It fills in every blank with the worst possible version.

One small thing goes wrong and suddenly, everything is ruined and you’re spiraling.

The worst-case scenario stops feeling like a possibility.
It starts feeling like a certainty.

These are stories anxiety tells when it's trying to protect us, but ends up scaring you instead. They’re learned thought patterns and the loop keeps spinning because the distortions keep feeding it.

So let's talk about what actually helps.

Most people try to think their way out.
They argue with the thoughts.
They look for proof.
They replay the scenario one more time, hoping this time it'll feel resolved.
But that just tells your brain: this matters, keep going.
And the loop gets louder.

Here's what works instead:
Name the distorted thought pattern.

When you notice the spiral starting, say it out loud or in your head.
"This is my brain catastrophizing again."
"My brain is focusing on the worst-case story. Not the whole story."

There are 10 common thought patterns you’ve likely been battling, and simply naming them for what they are creates enough distance to give yourself back the power.

You don't need to prove the thought wrong.
You don't need to solve it or silence it.
You just need to watch it, the way you'd watch clouds move across the sky.
Let it be there without making it mean something.

Remind yourself: a thought is not a fact.
Anxiety is convincing. It speaks in certainties.

Your brain is trying to protect you but it's not always right about what you need protecting from.
And when the loop comes back (because it will, at first) don't be hard on yourself.

Noticing it sooner and disrupting the pattern is progress.
And that power will eventually help you step off the hamster wheel anytime your brain starts going for a run.

Hope this helps,
Chantal
