Here’s 10 Eye-mazing Facts About Your Eyes! 👁️🔬

1️⃣ The brain is the only organ in our bodies more complex than the eye.

2️⃣ Children with vision problems are often misdiagnosed with dyslexia, ADHD and other learning difficulties - one of the reasons it’s so important to get your kids’ eyes checked frequently.

3️⃣ Only 1/6 of your eyeball is visible.

4️⃣ The iris (coloured part of the eye) has 256 distinct features, whereas fingerprints only have 40.

Here's some more information about this CooperVision Clinical study 👇

👉 What is the registry study about?
A registry study is a method to follow what happens to patients after they receive treatments that have been prescribed for them. Researchers want to study the success and safety of this lens material and lens design in children when fit with the lens between the ages of 8-12 years old.

👉 What can be expected during the study?
The study will collect information regarding any eye problems that might occur in approximately 2,400 children wearing the
lenses over a 3-year period. Your study doctor will gather information by examining the front part of your child’s eyes. You will also be asked to complete surveys about your child’s contact lens wear time and if your child has had a red or painful eye while wearing the lenses.

👉 Your kid’s changing vision can help change lives.
By allowing their eyes to be checked throughout this study, your child is making it possible for researchers to pursue new treatments for nearsightedness that might help others in the future.

👉 What can parents help with?
To ensure the results of the study are accurate, while your child is in the study, you should assure that he/she:
✅ Follows the instructions given for
✅ Wears only the study lenses at least 5 days per week for more than 8 hours per day.
✅ Only uses eye care products that have been provided by the study doctor.
✅ Comes to the office for planned visits.
✅ Inform the study doctor if your child has a red or painful eye at any time while in the study.

👉 How many visits are required?
As part of the study, your child will be asked to attend 2 visits per year for a total of 7 visits over 3 years. The study visits coincide with routine follow-up visits (every 6 months).
