✨Closed Comedones 101 ✨

Closed comedones are clogged pores that remain completely sealed at the surface of the skin.

Because the opening is closed, oil and keratin become trapped beneath an intact layer of skin. This is why they often feel like small bumps or uneven texture rather than an active breakout.

They typically:
• Appear flesh-colored or white
• Have no visible opening
• Are not always inflamed
• Do not extract easily without proper preparation

When left untreated, closed comedones can evolve.
Over time they may:

• Become inflamed and turn into papules or pustules
• Rupture and trigger deeper breakouts
• Oxidize and develop into open comedones (blackheads)

This is why early management matters.

The goal isn’t to aggressively squeeze them — it’s to properly prepare the skin, regulate cell turnover, support the barrier, and choose the correct timing for safe extraction.

Skin care is strategy, not force.
