I am here because other women helped me heal through it all. For that reason (amongst many) I will always help other women do the same 🌸

Tomorrow is International Women’s Day, and I feel called to talk about something near and dear to my heart: Women’s health and community healing 🌊

Women’s health is something that has been severely downplayed and neglected since the dawn of healthcare.

From being told that your debilitating periods are normal, your uncontrollable mood swings are just “part of being a woman”, your pain is all in your head, and all of your problems can go away with one little pill (just don’t ask any questions) 🙄

Growing up hearing these comments not only invalidates your struggles, but it also feels incredibly isolating - like you shouldn’t be struggling at all, much less “complaining” about it.

Through my own experience with this (and hearing the same stories over and over again from other women) I became determined to open a clinic that approached things differently. One that validated, transformed, and empowered women beyond what they ever though possible 💫

After years of practicing it’s become clear how much power community holds in the healing process. I would even argue that community is absolutely necessary for healing - especially for women.

Each year I strive to incorporate this community aspect into my practice (keep an eye out for some exciting things coming this year that will do just this), but even just continuing to build this incredible community of women here on social media has been so healing for me and many others 🫶

If you’re here, I want you to know that you are welcome. There is a place for you here. You are not alone.

Let’s continue to build each other up, empower one another, and focus on community healing at a time when everything else may feel uncertain.

I encourage you to share more about yourself in the comments so we can continue to strengthen this community together ❤️

Ever thought to yourself - “what the heck is going on with my gut??” 🫠

Often, if you’re experiencing GI distress, your doctor will likely diagnose you with IBS and tell you to avoid food sensitivities.

But what if you don’t want to have to avoid food sensitivities?

And what if you want to actually heal your gut, rather than living with your symptoms forever?

If this sounds like you, the first step is to figure out what’s causing your GI distress 🔎

Here I’ve laid out some of the most common causes of GI (and other health-related) symptoms to help you begin narrowing down what could be wrong.

While knowing this info can help you begin to narrow things down, it is often essential to complete functional lab testing to confirm 🧪

This allows your practitioner to create a clear plan to resolve the specific issues you’re experiencing, rather than experimenting until something works.

Most doctors will not provide this testing to their patients, so it’s usually necessary to work with a functional practitioner to have it completed.

Luckily, we’re able to work with clients worldwide and can ship this lab testing directly to you to complete in the comfort of your own home 🌱💫

Just comment “LABS” below and I’ll share next steps for accessing this lab testing and working with our team 1:1 💗

Other ways to reduce histamine naturally:

🥬 Eat fresh foods: Focus on minimally processed, freshly prepared meals to avoid histamine buildup.

🫚 Incorporate antihistamine foods: Try ginger, turmeric, onions, and foods high in vitamin C.

🧘‍♀️ Practice stress management: Chronic stress can worsen mast cell activation and histamine release.

🦪 Address nutrient deficiencies: Ensure adequate intake of B6, magnesium, zinc, and copper.

🌿 Experiment with low-histamine herbs: Nettle, chamomile, and holy basil may help regulate histamine levels.

⚠️ Please note that many of these are short-term solutions to help you manage your symptoms, not address your histamine intolerance directly

If you want long-term relief that allows you to eat and live how you want sympom-free, you’ll want to get the the root cause of your symptoms (I talk more about this in part 3 of this series)

To learn more about lab testing and 1:1 support from our team (we are currently accepting clients worldwide), just comment “LABS” and I will send over the details 🤍🧪✨

39 years walking this beautiful Earth. 🎂
Feeling blessed, today especially as I reflect on how I’ve navigated my own growth, shedding layers, and evolving into exactly who I meant to be.
Little ash would be so proud!! 🌸

It’s officially February 💕

Which means an updated list of seasonal produce for you 💝

As always, be sure to save this post for your next shopping trip 🛒

Why is it important to eat seasonally?

🥕 Seasonal produce is better for the environment & communities
By supporting local farmers, you’re reducing the demand for the typical transportation and refrigeration of produce that isn’t in season.

🥦 Seasonal produce is more nutrient-dense
When produce is stored and refrigerated for longer, it loses some of its natural nutrients. Eating produce that has recently been harvested leads to a greater level of nutrients available for your cells.

🍎 Seasonal produce usually tastes better
Along with being more nutritious, seasonal produce also tastes better due to being more fresh and perfectly ripe.

🍋 Seasonal produce is often cheaper
The price of produce goes down when it is in-season due to the abundance of this produce at the time. This makes seasonal produce easier on your wallet than out-of-season produce.

So, this year, I encourage you to prioritize seasonal produce where you can. 🥬🍊🍐🥔🍠

And remember - getting at least 30 different plant foods in per week is ideal for microbial diversity & immunity, so don’t be afraid to switch things up daily!

Let me know, which in-season produce are you most excited for this month?

And remember that nothing can replace a balanced diet and healthy habits. If you’re struggling to manage your ADHD, first look at your diet and habits to see if either of these could be improved.

Along with sleep and sunshine, things like regular movement, stress management, staying hydrated, and eating plenty of fruits, veggies, and protein will all be life-changing once you learn to prioritize them 💗

Best of luck, and let me know what questions you have in the comments ⬇️

I’m starting IVF this week, feeling all the feels after stepping back into the fertility clinic after our loss last year. We took a break but have still been preparing our bodies gently.

It’s an intense process with lots of hormone injections, ultrasounds, almost daily bloodwork and emotional stressors so it’s important to prepare your body and nervous system the best you can.

Sharing some of the ways I’ve supported my body over the last 6 months (myself and hubby) with you in hopes it can encourage you no matter your fertility story.

Please share with anyone walking their own TTC journey.
