The OFL was grateful to join in solidarity with affiliates at last night’s Day of Pink Gala Fundraiser. Labour showed up strong, many as proud sponsors to support the International Day of Pink org and its vital work creating safer, more inclusive communities across Ontario and Canada. Supporting anti‑bullying, equity, and human dignity is core to our values, and it matters now more than ever. Looking forward to an even bigger turnout at next year’s gala under the theme “Inspire”.

The OFL unites with 2SLGBTQIA+ communities in the fight against bullying homophobia, transphobia, and all forms of hate.
A fair, inclusive labour movement means safe workplaces, strong protections, and respect for all. No exceptions.

The Canadian Labour Congress – Ontario Region in collaboration with the Canadian Union of Public Employees Ontario (CUPE Ontario) is mobilizing a Workers Together labour canvass to support Serena Purdy in University–Rosedale.

Register Here: https://actionnetwork.org/events/workers-together-labour-canvass-university-rosedale-2/

Serena is running on a vision that puts people first – fighting for strong public services, accessible health care, climate action, and an economy that works for everyone, not just the few.

Her campaign reflects what workers across our movement are calling for: fairness, dignity, and real solutions to the challenges people are facing every day.

At a time when workers are grappling with rising costs, job insecurity, and pressure on public systems, these by-elections matter. Together, we can:
• Defend and create good, stable jobs
• Protect and strengthen public services and health care
• Tackle the affordability crisis facing working people

📣 Join us at the doors and be part of building a stronger future for workers in University–Rosedale.
• No experience necessary - training will be provided
• We will canvass in pairs/teams

Let’s show what collective action can do. ✊

March 31, 2026

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Stephen Lewis, a towering figure in the fight for social justice, human dignity, and global equity.

Throughout his extraordinary life, including Leader of the Official Opposition as Ontario NDP leader, Stephen Lewis was a powerful and principled voice for the most vulnerable and was a champion of workers’ rights. As Canadian Ambassador to the United Nations he took those principles and passion to a global stage – confronting inequality and leading with courage in the global response to HIV/AIDS.

The Ontario Federation of Labour unites in unwavering solidarity with trans, non binary, intersex, and Two Spirit people across Ontario. As attacks on gender diverse communities intensify across Canada and beyond, the labour movement is clear: trans rights are workers’ rights, and human rights are non negotiable. No one should face discrimination, fear, or violence for being who they are. We will continue to fight for dignity, safety, and inclusion in every workplace, school, and community.

OFL: Ontario’s Budget 2026 does more to Protect the Ford Government, than it does Ontarians and our Economy.

“After eight years in power, this government owns the reality Ontarians are facing,” said Laura Walton, President of the OFL. “This budget is not about necessity – it’s about choices. And this government continues to prioritize tax cuts and corporate interests over workers and public services.”
