For my review DIAGNOSIS of the 13th studio album by The Black Keys, I am joined by my good friend and bandmate Kara!

Though we had very conflicting opinions on this album (mine positive, his negative), it turned out to make for quite the entertaining review!

I still believe this to be a romantic fable told via 11 moving and emotional tracks, catchy ones at that!

My favourite songs from "No Rain, No Flowers" are: Baby Girl, Kiss It and Man on a Mission

‼️DEMONS IS OUT NOW‼️

Written during the pandemic, our newest single “Demons” came together quickly. Our singer, Troy Gilmore, showed up to the jam space as we were working on the instrumental. He’d had a tough day busking, and his frustration poured onto the page; the lyrics on the record are unchanged from what he wrote in that first session. It’s a vulnerable song about struggling with depression, and the lyrical sincerity encouraged the band to keep the song alive after lockdown, before finally recording it in 2024. We feel it strikes a unique balance; the dark subject matter contrasts well against the tight, energetic instrumentation. Troy’s stage introduction for the song sums it up best: “It’s the happiest song i’ve ever written about depression
