I’ve practiced AEDP for years now, and I still find myself grateful for this model, and captivated by its true capacity to support tender growth. It’s one of the few approaches where I consistently see people feel different in session, and have that change be transported to their outer lives and important relationships.
Part of why I love being an AEDP practitioner (and self-proclaimed emotions doula) so much is because I’ve experienced it myself as a client. I know what it’s like to be on the other side of the chair, learning how to slow down, feel safe enough to notice what’s really there, and let something shift. That experience changed the way I show up as a therapist. Your AEDP therapist is relational, present, and honours the parts of us that have been protecting us for a long time. Instead of fighting those parts, we get curious with them. We work at a pace that feels safe. And slowly, people start to reconnect with themselves in a way that feels real and earned, instead of from a place of forcing and an urgency to change.
At our clinic, our whole team strives for this kind of work: attachment-focused, relational, and experiential. We show up with people in a way that feels steady, warm, and attuned, because we believe our community deserves therapy that truly supports them. This is the heart of how we practice, and why this work means so much.
