Another memorable Weekend🚀🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️☀️🎉🥂

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to sign our Zero Cuts, Zero Cases petition, our ZERO art installation. We hope you were able to grab some free condoms, join in on our d***o ring toss, and try out our annual limbo (iconic, obviously), and connect with our team!

A huge HUGE shoutout to our volunteers and staff who showed up and gave it their all in the heat. We are so grateful to have this community, to advocate for better access to healthcare and education. ❤️

This week, our Founder and President, Shamin Mohamed Jr., is in Geneva with the LetsStopAIDS delegation, representing North American civil society at the 56th UNAIDS Programme Coordinating Board Meeting.

As LetsStopAIDS marks 21 years, the global HIV response stands at a critical crossroads—shrinking funding, rising anti-rights movements, and widening inequalities threaten progress. Yet, we now have the tools to reach zero new infections. What’s missing is the political will and resources to act.

We stand with our Founder in calling for a strategy that protects human rights, centres lived experience, ensures accountability, and properly funds community leadership.

Communities are ready to lead. The strategy must make that possible.

Meet Elvin! 🌱✨

As a Special Events Coordinator at LetsStopAIDS, she is all about creating meaningful connections and bringing people together. From adjusting to a whole new country to building community wherever she goes, her journey is one of resilience and growth.
She may have mastered event planning, but nothing could have prepared her for Canadian winters (seriously, who knew -30°C was a thing?!). Luckily, she’s warmed up to it, literally and figuratively!

With a degree in Architecture from UofT, she’s got an eye for design and for organizing unforgettable events! Outside of her work, you’ll probably find her wandering through an art gallery or enjoying the outdoors.

Community-led initiatives have been the life source of the HIV response, yet they have been the most compromised – especially as of recently.

We want to use this day to shed light on the unequivocal impact that our network of volunteers, partners, and organizations have contributed to our collective progress in the global HIV/AIDS response.
With the recent funding cuts to community-led responses, we more than ever need to stand in solidarity to tackle these systemic barriers together. Let’s ensure that community-led organizations are able to support affected people through sustainable funding and resources, and without facing discrimination.
Community makes us stronger.
