Can you believe that we found ANOTHER STELLAR physio to join Team 416?
We are incredibly lucky to have Kiah on board. She will be starting on July 8th, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

She has spent the last 4 years as the head physio for the National Ballet School and now she is thrilled to connect with the local dance community! 🩰

Kiah is excited to apply the skills she’s acquired treated complicated foot, ankle and hip injuries to individuals with a broad range of activity goals! 🏀⚽️🎾

Kiah (obviously) loves dancing, enjoys travelling, eating Indonesian food, and reading Ruth Ware books. 📚 Read more about her on our website!

Online booking is available.

Practicing quick direction changes in late stage Achilles rehab. This is a tough one for so many people as it often resembles the actual position the Achilles tendon originally tore.

Exposing the Achilles tendon and the body to high loads and speed in a dorsiflexed position will make return to sport much easier. It also prevents overuse of the other side when changing directions.

Save this post and send it to someone who needs it.

As always, please check with your healthcare provider to see if you are ready to do these exercises.

OPA! We hired a new physio resident! We would love to welcome Nick Stergiadis to Team 416. If you haven’t already figured it out from the music and the OPA expression, we are excited to have another member here with 🇬🇷 heritage. It is only a matter of time before Hayley’s Yia Yia will start sending him Greek cookies, as well!

Nick has a truly international experience, as he did his physio Masters degree Down Under 🦘 where many greats of our profession hail from.

He also has a background in personal training and soccer coaching! His favourite ⚽️ team is Arsenal (we will have to forgive him for that).

You will see him around on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays!

⚡Level up your calf raises⚡

If you answer yes to one of the questions below, these are your exercises. 👀

1️⃣ So you think you have good calf strength?

2️⃣ Have you had an ankle sprain, recovering from an Achilles tendon injury, calf strain, broken ankle etc.

3️⃣ Are you participating in a sport that requires quick direction changes? ⚽️🏈🏀🎾🏐⚾️🥏🏸

4️⃣ Are you a runner who runs outside (and sometimes on uneven ground i.e.: sidewalk, curb, grass etc.) 🏃

5️⃣ Are you interested in being active longer in life without giving up your favourite activities due to injuries?

6️⃣ Do you want stronger calves?

Try these calf raise variations! 3 sets each until fatigue (without form failure)

⓵ Wall lean end range plantarflexion calf raise
② Wall lean calf raise inversion bias (targeting medial gastrocs and soleus, tib post)
③ Wall lean calf raise eversion bias (targeting lateral gastrocs, soleus and peroneals

⚠️ If these are too advanced, add a little support by using the other leg on the ground.

Meet our new RMT, Devon!
He is a registered massage therapist, a personal trainer, a teacher, someone who loves to travel and LOVES lasagna.

Read more from him below.

Sports and physical activity have always been a big part of my life growing up. I played in several organized sports at various competitive levels. I have always maintained a regular workout schedule from a young age. As a sports fan, you can find me either playing sports recreationally or watching sports.

My core and academic foundational background in exercise science allows me to take a whole-person perspective grounded in a treatment focused approach. I have special interests and a vast amount of experience working with active individuals and those with neck, shoulder, and lower back issues.

I consider myself to be a lifelong learner which has led me to continually expand my knowledge base through research, direct mentorship, and educational courses to elevate my skill set.

Fun fact: I love travelling and immersing myself in different cultures.

Another day, another intro post! We have a new physio starting at 416 next week! Her name is Fei and she is a grad! 💜 🙌 From May 8th, she will be available on Mondays 11-6 and Wednesdays 10-6pm!

Fei has a special interest and experience in treating circus artists, acrobats and pole dancers, as well as people with hypermobile bodies! At she is excited to expand her knowledge about Achilles and other sports injuries.

She played table tennis as a kid but got fascinated by pole, circus, and extreme flexibility when she was 25. Nowadays you will find her practicing contortion, bending over backwards or upside-down working on her handstands. Check out some of these moves . 🤸‍♀️

She is a lifelong learner (ask her about her masters in physics 🤯) hailing all the way from Taiwan 🇹🇼 and a self-appointed plant lady 🌱 As a therapist, nothing makes her happier than seeing clients develop better body awareness, increase mobility and strength, and regain their confidence and trust in their movement.

Read more on Fei on our website under “About”. Book an appointment with her online on 416physio.ca (link in bio).
