We are so thrilled to share that our founder, Aislin Temple, in partnership with Feel Your Way Therapy Clinic, hosted an ADHD seminar at Hudson College. Aislin gave an hour long presentation on how ADHD shows up in the classroom and how teachers can properly support their students. Through attending psychotherapy, students with ADHD can learn regulation strategies and how to work with their brain to have the best learning outcomes and successes.

Bullying and stress are closely connected. Being bullied, whether physically, verbally, or online, can cause intense emotional stress, leading to anxiety, low self-esteem, and even depression. The constant fear or pressure can activate the body’s stress response, making it harder to focus, sleep, or feel safe. Over time, this stress can affect both mental and physical health. It’s essential to reach out to someone, seek support, and recognize that no one deserves to be bullied.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a proven, practical type of talk therapy that helps people understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are connected. It teaches you to recognize unhelpful thought patterns, challenge them, and replace them with more balanced, realistic ones. CBT is often used to treat anxiety, depression, stress, and other mental health issues, and it focuses on building real-world coping skills that you can apply in everyday life.

A dopamine loop is a cycle in your brain that keeps you coming back to certain behaviours because they feel rewarding, even if they aren’t always good for you. It works like this: you experience a trigger (like a notification, boredom, or a craving), which leads your brain to release dopamine, a chemical that makes you feel motivated and excited about getting a reward. That push leads you to take action (scrolling social media, eating a snack, checking your phone), and when you get the reward (a like, a sweet taste, a message), your brain reinforces the behaviour. The next time you get that same trigger, the cycle repeats.

Got it! Here’s how to use a real ice cube with the Ice Cube Method in easy steps:

1. Grab an ice cube from the freezer.
2. Stand over a sink and hold it firmly in your hand.
3. Focus your attention on the cold sensation, how it feels on your skin, and how it starts to melt.
4. Notice the texture, the smoothness, and how the cold spreads through your fingers.
5. As you focus on the ice cube, your mind stops racing, which helps reduce stress and anxiety.

As you focus on the ice cube, your mind stops racing, which helps reduce stress and anxiety. This works because the strong physical sensation of cold helps pull your mind away from worries and brings you into the present moment. It’s like a quick mental reset!
