🔛Sitting all day? Let’s loosen YOUR HIPS 🔛

🔥It’s time for one of my favourite hip opener exercises - Pigeon with Reach! If you’re looking for a stretch that hits all your muscles and helps prepare you for a workout, look no further! This versatile stretch is great on its own, as a warmup, or throughout your workout.

🦅Pigeon pose is a hip-opening forward bend. There are three primary versions of Pigeon pose, each building upon the one before. This version is the first stage and the pose you will commonly practice in yoga class.

📗Here is how to do it:

1. From downward-facing dog, bring the right leg up into a down dog split.
2.  Bend your right knee and bring that leg forward as if you were going to step into a lunge. Instead of placing your foot down as you would for a lunge, bring your right knee to the floor on the outside of your right hand.
3. Release your left knee to the mat. Your left leg should be flat on the floor. Look backward to make sure your left foot is pointing straight back.
4. Now bring your torse down or lean forward and reach towards the wall in front of you. 
5. Continue squaring your hips and breathing into any tightness

🔥It’s time for the World’s Greatest Stretch! If you’re looking for a stretch that hits all your muscles and helps prepare you for a workout, look no further than the World’s Greatest Stretch. Yes—it’s really called that, and for good reason. This versatile stretch is great on its own, as a warmup, or throughout your workout.

🏋🏻‍♀️At its core, the world’s greatest stretch is a dynamic move done in a deep lunge position with one palm flat on the floor and the other twisting open toward the sky. It’s part lunge, part plank, and part twist, and it involves your entire body.

📝Here is how to do it:

1. From a high-plank position, step your right foot to the side of your right hand.

2. Press your left hand into the ground and bring your right hand overhead. Twist your body to the right side, and bring your gaze to the lifted fingertips.

3. Reverse the movement, and repeat on the opposite side.
4. Continue for 30 seconds and switch sides!

📚Let’s help neck pain, tightness and poor posture! Save this one exercise and give it a try!

💪🏼These muscles are called the suboccipital muscles! They are a group of muscles defined by their location to the occiput (base of the skull). These four paired muscles’ main action is to maintain posture and produce movements of the head. The suboccipital muscles commonly become tense and tender due to factors such as eye strain, wearing new eyeglasses, poor ergonomics at a computer workstation, grinding the teeth, slouching posture, and trauma.

🏋🏻‍♀️HOW TO:In a seated position gently retract your neck using one hand and gently apply force upwards on the occiput with the other hand! 

🔥Every 1-2 hours try and give yourself a 10 min break and if you are able too - give these a try! Practice good posture – sit up straight with shoulders back and chin up. This may feel weird at first if you’re not used to sitting like this, but it will lower potentially migraine-inducing bodily tension. And take frequent breaks! Stand up now and again, stretch your back, shoulders and neck. Let your eyes rest from the glare of your monitor.

⬇️Do you have hip pain or SI pain?🔥

💪🏼Hip pain due to SI joint dysfunction is really common these days. Do these mobilizations for a minute each and get instant relief!

🏋🏻‍♀️The SI joint is within the pelvis around the base of your lumbar (low back) spine. Because of this location, most people will just call it low back pain. Most research will tell you that it’s not extremely common as a pain generator, but I feel like the more I treat the more I notice it’s often 𝘢𝘵 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘢 𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳.  I’ve struggled with this and use these exercises to help!!

👌Many people complain about tight shoulders, but they might not be as rigid as you believe. Shoulders are naturally flexible, sometimes even feeling a bit loose. Often, what feels like a shoulder problem is actually related to posture.

🤕If you’re facing this, you might lack, proper extension in your upper back, and correct positioning of your shoulder blades -> Plus, improving upper back mobility which can enhance your throwing and swinging abilities, especially for golfers. Improving upper back mobility eases shoulder discomfort and enhances throwing and swinging power! Shoulder mobility and proper stability help here drastically!
