What an unforgettable evening. This past Friday, we had the honour of attending the RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards at the Ritz-Carlton, where Lume Women + Health was recognized with the Ones to Watch award.

This milestone reflects the belief that women’s health deserves innovation, investment, and a new standard of care. And it wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of our incredible team who show up every day with heart, expertise, and an unwavering commitment to the women we serve.

Thank you to and for celebrating female entrepreneurs across the country, and congratulations to all of this year’s inspiring honourees.

Emotional resilience and psychological well-being. The mind-body connection is essential to women’s overall health.

Research confirms that psychological well-being directly impacts physical health outcomes. Women face unique mental health challenges related to hormone fluctuations, societal pressures, and caregiving responsibilities that traditional healthcare often fails to consider.

We use positive psychology as our paradigm for wellness. We start with your strengths, and circle out to assess emotional health, engagement in life, relationships, purpose, and mastery of skills.

Women account for nearly two-thirds of Alzheimer’s dementia cases, yet brain health is rarely addressed until symptoms appear, minimizing the reality that risk factors are decades in the making.

Women’s brains respond differently to aging, stress and hormonal changes. Lume’s brain health evaluation addresses sleep quality, brain fog and the impact of hormonal changes on neurological well-being. What’s more, over 40% of risk factors for dementia are preventable — two of which include hearing and vision loss, both of which are assessed at Lume.

91% of men report or**sm during their most recent sexual encounter. For women? That number is only 64%.

When it comes to sexual health, Lume takes a comprehensive bio-psycho-social approach. We recognize that sexual health is influenced by physical health, psychological factors, and relationship dynamics. Our assessment encompasses common concerns like changes in desire, pain, and the impact of midlife transitions on intimacy with a focus on enhancing overall quality of life.

Women get diagnosed with cancer 2.5 years later than men on average.*

At Lume, our approach revolves around proactive screening and risk reduction while maintaining a gold standard of care. We ensure every woman is up to date in terms of screening for cervical, breast, lung and colon cancer. While genetic history can increase cancer risk, there are many lifestyle factors that play a role. Let us help you take control of what is in your power to prevent cancer.

Women reach peak bone mass by the age of 30. After that, we lose bone faster than we make it.

Women begin losing bone and muscle mass much earlier than standard screening guidelines recognize. Our approach identifies risk factors for osteoporosis early to preserve bone before loss occurs. At Lume, we want women to maintain their strength and independence, which is why our approach incorporates resistance training, diet, and if needed, medication tailored to women’s unique musculoskeletal needs.
