It’s been a few months of uncertainty but I could not be more excited to get back to work and provide the highest standards of osteopathic care to all my returning and new patients!

For the week of April 12th I will be operating on my old schedule, however starting the week of April 19th I will be switching things up just a bit.

In Osteopathy, we aim to strengthen the body’s natural ability to self heal and self regulate. We work to facilitate your body to heal itself by removing all restrictions that affect its normal structural alignment and functional movement. In doing this, we open/clear up the pathways (pathways for optimal blood flow via arteries and veins, nerve innervation and lymphatic drainage) in the body that supply health to everything from our skin layer down to our organs . In other words, we look to find the cause of the problem, fix it and then let mother nature do the rest! Your body/nature does the healing! We just prep the plane to get the healing process off the runway!

Missing all my patients and what I enjoy doing! I can’t wait to reopen and get back to treating everyone! Once Toronto moves to the red zone, we are good to go! 🙏🏽

Celebrating black history month by recognizing Dr. Meta L. Christy. In 1921 Meta graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, becoming the world’s first African-American Osteopathic physician.

According to historians, Dr. Christy moved to Las Vegas, New Mexico in 1926. Three years after her move she opened up a practice that welcomed patients of all races and ethnic backgrounds but catered to African Americans, who because of discrimination, were denied service at the local hospital.

With the Government’s decision to enter another lockdown in Toronto due to COVID-19, many have reached out asking if these measures affect Osteopathy and manual therapy.

Well here’s the good news! We have been given the green light to continue practicing, which means I will be able to continue offering Osteopathic care! To keep you, myself and everyone else safe, all Ministry of Health regulations and protocols will continue to be met and practiced. (Mandatory COVID-19 screening 24 hours before every appointment, Masks worn by everyone in the clinic, hands sanitized before and after every appointment, all surfaces are disinfected after every appointment, etc)

With it being winter/cozy season, remember to make some time to get the blood flowing daily by moving around and exercising. This will help keep the body in good health and will prevent you from spiralling into an unhealthy sedentary routine.
