Teach kids how to build a proper nutritious meal by explaining that each meal should be focused on important nutrients like protein and fibre. If we don’t teach our kids about the importance of nutrient-rich foods, and how to make sure we are eating healthy, when will they learn? Ask them to come up with breakfast, lunch, and dinner ideas. Help them out by teaching them what possible proteins to focus on with each meal, and how to incorporate fibre with different vegetables, fruits, grains, and legumes. Try recipes from different countries and get creative with how you help your children get interested in food. The messier kitchen will be worth it when you start seeing your kids not only eat healthier, but hearing them talk to others about the important aspects of nutrition.
