1. Move Your Body 💪
Regular exercise balances the nervous system and increases circulation, helping to flush out the stress hormones. Start (or finish) your day off with a 20 minute walk to reduce stress.

2. Eat Well 🥗
Avoid processed foods, high levels of sugar and/or caffeine, ni****ne, and alcohol. Instead opt for more fruits and vegetables and drink plenty of water.
A healthy body and well-nourished body is a body more capable of coping with stress in a positive way.

3. Find your Support System 🙋‍♀️
Take time to talk face to face to those good listeners in your life. Find your support system and lean on them when needed.

4. Enjoy your Me-Time 📖
Take time to engage in activities you enjoy, such as reading, music, gardening, etc.

5. Be Mindful 🧘‍♀️

that for proper cognitive function, most adults need a minimum of seven hours of sleep each night? 🤔

Studies have shown sleep deprivation can leave people vulnerable to attention lapses, reduced cognition, delayed reactions and mood shifts. 🧠

None of these behavioural consequences lend themselves to a productive workday. 👎

⚠ Even more worrisome is the potential for a tolerance to chronic lack of sleep.

While your brain and body may be struggling to cope with the continued sleep deprivation, this lack of sleep may feel normal leading them to be unaware of their own deficit.

This interesting concept built upon the findings of an 80-year Harvard Medical School study, referred to as the Harvard Study of Adult Development, is one we can all learn from in our quest to achieve lifelong physical and mental wellness. 🧠💪

The Harvard study followed a diverse population of participants over the course of their lives beginning in their early 20s, to record how these people lived, loved, and worked in their early adulthood and comparing it to their levels of happiness and success in later life.

In 2001, data from this lengthy study of its diverse participants was the basis for what researchers refer to as the seven 'accounts' to invest in to ensure happiness and wellness in later life. 🙌
