We would like to share news of Dr. Paul Wong's recent academic engagement in China. On March 17, 2025, Dr. Wong was invited to Wenzhou Medical School, located in Zhejiang province, China, to serve as a visiting professor. He shares his insights with their Orthopaedics department.
During his visit, Dr. Wong delivered a lecture focused on his experience and results with “same-day discharge” total joint surgery. This innovative approach to total joint replacement can enhance patient recovery and streamline healthcare delivery. Dr. Wong's presentation provided local orthopaedic surgeons with a detailed overview of his techniques, outcomes, and the benefits of this approach.
Adding a special layer of connection to this visit was the presence of Dr. Huachen Yu, an attending surgeon at Wenzhou Medical School. Dr. Yu holds a unique connection to Dr. Wong, having spent a year as a clinical fellow in Toronto back in 2015 under Dr. Wong's mentorship.
