People often associate rest with laziness, resulting in a social construct of rest that drives us function beyond our capacity. On November 30, 2023 the OCSWSSW invited me to speak on a panel regarding intimate partner violence (IPV) in Canada. The event was the College’s Education Day, and it marked the end of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

In this clip I spoke about some of the findings from my MSW thesis completed in 2010. Since then, there has been more recent research on the topic of immigrant survivors of IPV, but the findings are hardly different.
