Its mandate under the Regulated Health Professions Act, and the Dietetics Act, is to regulate the profession of dietitians in Ontario in the interest of the public and public protection. The College sets and enforces standards for the qualifications, registration,

continuing competence, conduct and ethics of Registered Dietitians in Ontario. We assist people in Ontario to access RD services and handle their questions and concerns. There are approximately 3600 Registered Dietitians in Ontario.

Registered Dietitians work in private practice, hospitals, community health centres, family health teams, long-term care, home care, schools, sports clubs, and grocery chains, and more!

Aujourd'hui, c'est la Journée des diététistes ! Les diététistes professionnels de l'Ontario sont des experts en nutrition spécialement formés qui exercent une profession réglementée. Ils sont compétents pour traduire les informations médicales et nutritionnelles en plans d'alimentation pratiques et sains pour vous et votre famille.

February is Black History Month
The 2026 theme for Black History Month is: “30 Years of Black History Month: Honouring Black Brilliance Across Generations — From Nation Builders to Tomorrow’s Visionaries.” This theme celebrates three decades of Black History Month in Canada by highlighting the enduring contributions of Black Canadians across time. This February, CDO recognizes the invaluable contributions of Black Canadians, including Black dietitians, who are advancing culturally inclusive dietetic practices.

En 2026, le thème pour le Mois de l’histoire des Noirs est « Le Mois de l’histoire des Noirs a 30 ans : honorons l’excellence des personnes noires au fil des générations, des bâtisseurs du pays aux visionnaires ». Ce thème célèbre trois décennies du Mois de l'histoire des Noirs au Canada en mettant en lumière les contributions durables des Canadiens noirs à travers le temps. En février, l'ODO reconnaît les contributions inestimables des Canadien. ne.s noir.e.s, y compris des diététistes noir.e.s, qui font progresser les pratiques diététiques culturellement inclusives.

This one-hour webinar will provide the latest updates for the College’s new Professional Billing Standard. Together, we’ll explore how to apply the standard to your practice with practical examples and case scenarios.

The College sets and enforces standards for the registration, continuing competence, conduct and ethics of Registered Dietitians in Ontario.

No one can call themselves a dietitian in Ontario unless they are registered with the College of Dietitians of Ontario. You can verify that your dietitian is registered by checking the Register of Dietitians on our website at www.collegeofdietitians.org There are over 4000 Registered Dietitians in Ontario.
