The tragic passing of Kobe has made this more evident. Even in tragedy, media outlets have chosen to report on his past transgressions, his mistakes.

A reporter while discussing the details of the accident 'slipped' up and called the team he loved and played for the Los Angles Ni***rs!
How can she have mixed up the word LAKERS and NI***RS? They don't sound the same. NOT EVEN CLOSE. AND then she tried to defend herself by saying she meant to say NAKERS... GTFOH. She needs to be fired ASAP!

Why? Why does this continue to happen? Physical violence. Character assisnation. Why can his family, friends and all those who were influenced by him mourn in peace. There is no reason to bring up his mistakes now. Those who needed to forgive him did.

Training will take place at Woodbine Beach starting on Thursday July 4th! (We will meet at the Woodbine bathing station). It will be offered every Tuesday and Thursday at 8:15am throughout July and August.

"I failed"

That is what this student athlete said when he slipped off the rope at the end of this video. 2 weeks prior he couldn't balance in the rope at all. Actually NO young man you did NOT! Falling and failing is part of your journey.

When student athletes are bombarded with WIN WIN WIN coaches and coaching doctrine they lose out on the process. Effective coaching should be focused on TEACH TEACH TEACH ESPECIALLY with young student athletes. Failing and losing is the best form of education.

His effort and attitude towards his rehab sessions have been positive and winning at every session ALWAYS. Zayn is baseball player who was referred to us by from . The focus of his rehab sessions have been
1. Improve intrinsic foot muscles.
2. Improve lower joint control.
3. Improve balance.
4. Improve core strength.

Zayn has set personal goals for himself and his baseball skill set...he wants to be faster, on the bases and in the field.

This drill is designed to take his feet muscles involved on various forms of surface. In addition to dynamic foot strengthening exercises and therapy he also trains with Movement Health Coach 1x a week incorporating Animal Flow techniques.

We are looking forward to Spring 2019 baseball season and seeing Zayn back on the track with The Gazzelle Track Club soon too.

I really enjoyed my 11 weeks at The Health Institute. During the first few weeks, I was nervous and did not know what to expect. However Dr.J, Dr. Chris, Cynthia and the rest of the THI team welcomed me with open arms. I’d like to thank Dr.J for his patience with me when it came to moments where I had to think critically. One example was providing a mobility assessment and a stability exercise for a client that presented with a herniated disc. I made various mistakes throughout the 11 weeks on placement and Dr. Joel was there to address the mistakes and to ensure that it does not repeat itself again. I personally enjoyed treatment observations as it gave me insight about the client, the injury sustained and the treatment. Time management and self confidence is an area that I still need to improve on. However, I do enjoy this teaching clinic agency and I look forward to volunteering at The Health Institute in the future. .j.thi •

Chiropractic can be a very physical job from moving body parts to demonstrating exercises, in order to have a long successful career it’s imperative that we therapists take care of our bodies just as we instruct our patients to. My strength training journey began because I was having difficulty working on bigger/stronger body types, after 2 years of training with and honing my treatment techniques I’m better and stronger in my treatments. Not only has my practice seen a positive change but every area of my life has been positively impacted by making the simple decision to get stronger.

Often at times we don’t engage our abs and glutes when we sit. As a result other muscles have to work hard to support the body. Muscles involved with the lower back become overworked meanwhile psoas muscle (hip flexor) becomes tight. This can cause imbalances that results in pain in our lower back.

Glute bridge is a great core exercise for individuals experiencing lower back pain.
Glute bridge targets hamstrings, glutes, lower back and abs.

Lie on your back with your knees bent and and arms flat on the floor. Bracing your core, lift your hips until your body forms a straight line from shoulders to knees. Be sure to squeeze your glutes at the top of the movement.

Other variations of a glute bridge that you can try include extending one leg and alternating one arm and leg while performing the lift.
