Are you proud of your work?

Finding it important to recognize the difference between being stubbornly filled with pride (better known as Ego) vs truly having pride in accomplishing the needs of others and still feeling personal satisfaction.

Consider this for a moment and see where you land.

Ego: Proud of your work but unable to adapt and learn and grow. Has personal goals but feels challenged when recognizing the bigger picture goals. Only feels accomplished by reaching personal goals. When a new idea comes along it is difficult to change your course.

Pride: Proud but willing to adapt. Recognizes the bigger picture and creates new goals to accommodate. Feels accomplishment when reaching the goals of others. Able to accept new ideas, put aside your personal ideas and listen - not just hearing, but stopping and listening. Open minded.

Pause, take a moment and reflect on your last project.

Decide how you want to be remembered. Ego is a hard thing to recognize and overcome. But in the end, you'll feel more accomplished as a team player and your relationships with your colleagues will become stronger.
