Lumenus is seeking volunteers to join the Live-In (Residential) Placement and Advisory Committee (RPAC). RPAC plays an important role in reviewing residential placements, strengthening safeguards, and helping ensure each child and youth’s unique needs are met.

We are collecting instrument donations to support programs and workshops at The Studio.

The Studio is a free, inclusive drop-in centre for youth aged 12–26. It celebrates 2SLGBTQ+ youth and youth of colour and provides a safe space to build community, access support, express creativity, and have fun.

Black history is Canadian history.

This month, we recognize leaders who helped shape our country:

Viola Desmond, who challenged racial segregation in Nova Scotia in 1946.

Lincoln Alexander, Ontario’s first Black Lieutenant Governor.

Jean Augustine, who championed Black History Month in Canada.

Their leadership reminds us that change happens through courage, advocacy, and sustained effort.

Action item: Learn about a Black Canadian leader you may not know – and share their story.
