They say it is the season of the Witch.
When the veil is the thinnest and we are visited by our ancestors.
This is true, but it is also the season of deep soul longing, and at times, sickness. For me, seasonal depression is a time of withdrawal from the physical world, it is a gateway into ancestral wisdom and trauma. It is a window of time to sit with the dead wise women in our lineages. It is a time to listen to their stories.

As white Women, this feels like a time to look into the ways our ancestors (yes, the witches too), upheld systems of oppression against non-white people. In canada, the colonial system is still violently assaulting indigenous communities. I believe that these systems are dying and we need healer women to hospice them to the grave. They deserve a good death, otherwise, they will continue to come back to haunt us.

I have been sitting with my Jewish and German ancestors to find out more about the role of accountability, forgiveness, and trust building in ancestral trauma repair. I am having difficulty imagining the alternatives unless these deep wounds are healed.

The new age community is fixated on living in ‘new earth’ while black and indigenous communities are being violently assaulted by policy and police.

Witches need to be working to not just bring down the patriarchy but also white supremacy. As white bodied witches, it doesn’t mean much if you had a lifetime or two as an indigenous shaman, your karma brought you to THIS LIFE in a white body. This alone reveals the work you are here to do.

True bliss lies in embodiment of the present moment. Therapeutic body work can help release deep samskaras (impressions) from body. When experiencing pain, our body is looking to communicate with the mind and spirit the only way it knows how. Energy cannot be created nor destroyed, only transformed. Once transformed, we can channel this energy into areas that are calling for nourishment and healing. Traditional Eastern philosophies of healing offer empowered approaches to wellbeing. Through study and integration of these ancient teachings we can embody the wisdom and release ourselves from conditions that have left us in states of suffering, disconnection and feeling uninspired. We are all here to be beautiful creators of our journey! Let's co-create and expand our consciousness beyond the limitations our minds have adapted to. Namaste.
