Visco-Foam Interface (VFI) vs Custom Seats?

We sometimes get asked whether a custom seat or a Visco Foam Interface (VFI) seat is a better choice. The answer is not so simple. If the VFI fits the client in terms of width, depth and aperture, it will likely offer the best solution in terms of pressure redistribution, comfort and positioning. This is because the VFI seats use standard molded seats as substrates. The contouring of the molded seat provides better registration in the client/seat interface and helps stabilize the pelvis. If the desired size or configuration isn't available in the VFI range, a custom seat will be required.

Raz now offers, as a part of our Visco-Foam Interface seat line, Front and Rear Access seats. This design offers excellent access for perianal care as well as coccygeal relief. Front and Rear Access seats are also available as custom.
