My best friend is a shining example; after I finish scaring the s**t out of the kids on his block, he'll be snacking on regular chips and candies, and I'll be having these.

Today, I had the Grand Reopening of my Team Youphoric Health and Performance Center and my Physiotherapy Clinic to celebrate 10 years of leaving the commercial gym space to persue my Dream of opening my own facilities, and it was great!
I made some healthy drinks and snacks (2nd image) that everyone enjoyed, the Mayor of Aurora – – stopped by (1st Image) and brought me a gift (3rd Image), and I had some of the local Commerce Members stop by and also give me a gift (4th image).
All that's left to do is clean up – and I'm completely pooped – so I'm going to do that right now and then pass out while visions of sugar plums dance through my head.

Most people already know that eating well and regular physical activity are things you need to do to in order to achieve optimal health, but there are several problems. The first is that there are so many opposing viewpoints on what constitutes healthy and unhealthy nutrition. Our coaches work with all kinds of people and teach them how to listen to their bodies and see what works best for them. Not everyone's body is the same and the foods one person eats and thrives off can have negative health consequences for another person. We don't put people on diets (paleo, vegetarian, keto, vegan, juicing, fasting...), we teach them to listen to their bodies and see what feels best for them.
The second problem is that there are so many people trying to tell you that their workout is the best workout. CrossFit can be great for some people but for a person with a history of low back pain, throwing heavy bars over their heads wouldn't be such a good idea. Again, people have different bodies and goals and an excellent exercise for one person may injure another person. We thoroughly assess posture, mobility, strength, and movement and create specific programs based on each person's unique body and, most importantly, based on whether their goal is to look better, feel better, or perform better.
The last and perhaps biggest problem is that there are two other vital components to optimal health that are often overlooked; stress and sleep! When a person is under stress, their body releases the hormone cortisol. Cortisol is a very important steroid hormone and it is released when the body is under any type of physiological stress (physical, mental, nutritional, chemical, etc.). When a person is under constant stress, cortisol levels remain high and it will have a negative impact on several other key hormones like testosterone, estrogen, and insulin, among many others. One of the biggest areas our coaches focus on is stress management. If a person is under too much stress, even a great diet and exercise program won't be enough to combat the negative effects of being under too much stress. We teach various stress reduction techniques like meditation, diaphragmatic breathing, aromatherapy, tai chi, and several others.
