Your Dexa scan is lying to you-here's what it doesn't measure!
Wait — before you accept that number as the whole story, there's something important you need to know.
Your DEXA scan measures bone density. That's it. It tells you how much mineral is packed into your bones — but it says nothing about bone quality, bone architecture, or how well your bones actually absorb the nutrients you're giving them.
Here's what that means in real life:
Two women can have the same T-score and have completely different fracture risk. Because density is only one piece of the picture.
Your bones are made of a living matrix — collagen, minerals, protein, and cells that are constantly building and breaking down. A DEXA scan can't capture that complexity.
So if you've been given a number and told "you need medication" or "just take calcium and come back in two years" — you deserve to know that there's a lot more to this story.
You are not a T-score. And you have far more influence over your bone health than you've been led to believe.
