Nici Shipway: Birth Doula Supporting Mothers and Families for an informed and empowering birthing experience.

My philosophy surrounding birth is that a Mother has the right to be fully informed regarding her or her baby's well being. She has the right to have a birth plan; a set of expectations or desires about how she wants the birth to progress. A Mother has the right to make these decisions about the birth in an environment free of ridicule or judgment. We need to trust our bodies while in labor and do what it tells us to do, whether that be moan, squat, breathe deeply, etc. The more we listen to our bodily instincts the more likely our bodies are to respond in a positive way, and help move labor through it's stages. My hopes are that I can support you achieve this state of mind and have your birth be a calm and empowering experience.

Hey friends!

When Hive Surrogacy came to be I knew that we would make some amazing magic happen for families, but just like any other company, we want to offer services that make us stand out from the rest. Education has always been a part of my life in some capacity and so I'm very excited to offer this amazing online course for Childbirth education, and for professional development for Birth Workers Supporting Surrogacy Journeys.

Who is this course for:

Day 1: Anyone who is about to welcome a baby into their family who wants to understand more about childbirth and how to support someone in labor. This can be Intended Parents, partners, Friends, Mom's... anyone who will be supporting a birthing person.

Day 2: Surrogacy Specific care. This will be an in depth look into Surrogacy and what kind of Support can lead to better birth outcomes and experiences for everyone involved. Day 2 would be great for anyone supporting a Surrogacy Birth, especially doulas and midwives.

I'm so excited to spend this meaningful time together!
