Medical Radiation Sciences - University of Toronto/Michener Joint Program

Medical Radiation Sciences - University of Toronto/Michener Joint Program Our program is the first professional undergraduate program of its kind in Medical Radiation Sciences.

The University of Toronto Department of Radiation Oncology and The Michener Institute of Education at UHN are proud to offer a joint Bachelor of Science Degree and Advanced Diploma in Medical Radiation Sciences. Offers a dynamic, intensive 32-month curriculum carefully crafted to equip students with the education and experience to succeed in their careers;
Is only open to students with prior unive

rsity experience who meet prerequisite requirements. The medical radiation sciences are an exciting and ever-growing area within medicine, covering several professional disciplines. Students have the opportunity to choose one of three disciplines as the focus of their studies:

> Radiation Therapy uses ionizing radiation to destroy cancerous tissue while monitoring patients.

> Radiological Technology uses external x-rays to image body structures.

> Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging Technology administers radiopharmaceuticals to assess organ function and cellular disease. Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging Technology and Radiological Technology are primarily concerned with medical diagnostic imaging while Radiation Therapy is focused on treatment of disease using radiation.
