Toronto School of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Toronto School of Traditional Chinese Medicine Toronto School of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TSTCM) is one of the top Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture institutions in North America.

When it comes to excellence in education, TSTCM has a proven track-record. Founded in 1995 by Mary Xiumei Wu, one of Canada’s foremost experts on Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, the school has spent the last 20 years refining its curriculum and training methods to ensure that graduates are prepared to meet the challenges of CTCMA certification in BC and Pan-Canadian examinations (starting in 2013) in Canada, and NCCAOM examinations in the United States. Since 2001 graduates of TSTCM have taken NCCAOM exams in the U.S and CTCMA exams in BC with high pass-rate. In Ontario, the TCM profession has been regulated since April 1, 2013 and College of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO) is established under the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991 and the Traditional Chinese Medicine Act, 2006. We are taking the necessary steps to ensure that our students will experience the same level of success with Pan-Canadian examinations and CTCMPAO registration that they have had in other jurisdictions. With our proven training methods, graduates have all the tools they need to build rewarding and successful careers practicing TCM. Our graduates have attained a reputation for excellence in the field of alternative health care and are highly sought-after by wellness and medical clinics. Many have gone on to open their own successful practices. TSTCM offers classes with flexible schedules and modularized programs, catering to the needs of students. Classes are offered during the daytime, evenings, and on weekends. Students can study one modality at a time in a modular fashion while working toward the completion of one of the comprehensive diploma programs. Our approach to in-class teaching and clinical training is innovative and highly effective. Classes are delivered within a supportive and inspiring environment, and encompass traditional as well as modern approaches to TCM education. The campus also includes an on-site teaching clinic to serve the local community, where upper-year students diagnose patients, formulate treatment plans, and deliver acupuncture, herbal medicine, and tuina treatments under the supervision of experienced TCM experts. We have assembled an expert faculty with many years of experience teaching and practicing Chinese Medicine in China and North America. Each and every one of our instructors is an outstanding individual who is carefully selected for his or her depth of knowledge and passion for teaching. Toronto School of Traditional Chinese Medicine is not only an educational institute providing formal training programs for acupuncture and TCM practitioners but also a professional traditional Chinese medical care center providing high quality TCM services by well respected TCM experts and our interns.

🌿 Acupuncture for Better Quality of Life in IBS Patients 🌿

Living with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) can be challenging — from unpredictable digestive symptoms to the emotional stress it brings. But new research offers hope.

A major study from Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine analyzed data from over 2,000 IBS patients and confirmed that acupuncture significantly improves quality of life — easing abdominal discomfort, normalizing bowel habits, and even reducing anxiety and stress levels.

✅ Reduced IBS symptom severity

🌿 Tired of relying on painkillers for migraines? 🌿

Are you still using Painkillers to combat your Migraines? Painkillers may bring quick relief, but they only mask the symptoms, not the root cause.

Research has shown that acupuncture offers an effective, evidence-based alternative for long-term migraine management.

A large-scale study analyzing over 900 clinical trials identified core acupuncture points such as Fengchi (GB20), Taiyang, and Shuaigu (GB8) as highly effective in reducing migraine pain. These points work by regulating the nervous system, easing tension, and restoring balance in the body — without the side effects of medication.

✨ Why choose acupuncture for migraines?
✅ Treats the root cause, not just the pain
✅ Restores overall balance and wellbeing
✅ Personalized treatment for your unique migraine pattern

If migraines are interfering with your life, it may be time to explore a natural, long-lasting solution.

📍 Book an appointment at our Teaching Clinic at TSTCM today and take the first step towards migraine relief that goes beyond painkillers.
