Somatic Release For The Hips:
For The Active Professionals
Warmer weather has you moving more — walks, runs, weekend adventures. But your body is still spending hours crouched over a desk, jaw tight, spine compressed, hip flexors shortened and forgotten.
This movement is your reset. A chance to rebalance the body and nervous system by opening up the entire front body — the part that gets crunched and hunched every time you sit.
How To Move Through It 👇
① Start gently. Before going deeper, check in — is your breath long and full? Is there any tension from your jaw all the way down to your spine? If yes, stay here.
② Only move to the next level when your breath maintains its depth and length, and your body feels quiet. No gripping. No bracing.
③ Work your way down slowly, honouring every layer. The goal is to eventually bring your elbows to the ground — but only when your body genuinely invites it.
Always, always honour where your breath and body are at. That’s the practice.
🕛 Do this as much as you like throughout the day — especially around midday, when you’ve been sitting for a while and your body is quietly asking for space.
Your nervous system will thank you. 🤍
