We will be increasing fees for most of our bodywork modalities on December 1. Most sessions are increasing about $5, with some not changing, like osteopathic, and some increasing slightly more, like craniosacral. Please check in with your practitioner for details. Sarah, Cassie and Ann, our fabulous RMTs, volunteered at the Toronto Hope Bonspiel yesterday, hosted at the Leaside Curling Club. They provided care to the curlers who fundraised for the Odette Cancer Centre at Sunnybrook. Over $140,000 was raised! It’s an incredible yearly event that we are happy to support.

Yesterday Renee (our craniosacral therapist) and I had the pleasure of touring the Toronto location of ROKband. They are using cutting edge software and technology to 3D print amazing corrective helmets for infants. They are lighter and easier to use and much more comfortable. As a demonstration of the process I had my own skull scanned. It is a truly remarkable process and is such a refreshing direction for this therapy.

It was so lovely to connect with Sheri Kimura this morning to chat about Eldoa, as well as catch up on our lives since our last meet up. It always fills my cup to spend time with Sheri - happy brain and happy heart. It’s easy to forget that a meet up for a one hour coffee with someone is so wonderful. Just a little reminder for me, and maybe for you, that as we head into full fall and then winter, to remember to reconnect with people a little more to help feel connected.

Serenity and space for contemplation. A lot of the time we are pressured and rushed and aren’t able to take moments to reflect and re-charge. With the fall underway, and with increasing times of holiday stress approaching, it might be good to put supports in place. Today is the perfect day to tell you about Dr. Katarina Bulat. Why? It’s monumentous because it’s her 50th birthday, as well as her 25th year in practice. She is astounded at both of these numbers, but is taking it in stride as she continues on as her usual curious and interested self, learning and growing and connecting. Dr. Katarina works with patients from day old babies, all the way up to her current 90 year old patient - obviously working differently with each patient, according to the needs of their body and its sensitivities. If the body is experiencing issues, she always tries to sort out ‘why’ something is happening, otherwise she is pleased to help support bodies to help them function optimally with regular sessions. In addition to her big laugh and warmth, she also has the empathy and sensitivity to work with patients who are in situations such as chronic pain. Outside of the clinic, time is spent with her lovely family, hiking, curling, singing, skiing and swimming. If you happen to see her, wish her a happy birthday and a hearty congrats on her 25 years of chiropractic practice.
