Any appointments from May 1 onward will be at the new rate.

Happy 15th anniversary to me!

I celebrated this milestone in the sweet little city of Moncton while on tour this past weekend, and I'm still wrapping my head around the history of how I got here.

I've always been keen on reinventing myself, and particularly in the last 6 months (after suffering a catastrophic clinic fire...more to come on that below), I've had quite some time reflecting on the different seasons of my career so far, and continue to dream about what I can do next.

The first 5 years were formative in the sense of building an identity, making buds, getting a spectrum of experience and aggressively adding continuing education training into my life.

The birth if Origin Wellness (Danforth) was a 5th year leap into running my own practice (alongside Erin, of course!). We didn't intend to grow so fast and to expand so big, but the momentum inspired me to continue to build ethical and positive collaborative spaces, so I got overly confident in expanding again by opening Dovercourt 10 years into my career.

The leaning curve, the challenges, the pandemic... all of it made me adapt and embrace the chaos, but it definitely knocked me on my ass. The world changed, my personal life changed, and I lived in a disorganized nervous system state for quite some time trying to keep afloat.

After moving to a small town during the pandemic (literally, I live in Tiny), I had a series of injuries and hard life events that forced me to be better, and to take accountability for where I wasnt walking the walk. Grief forges you into a different beast, you don't get to choose the path when you're new to it. In my case I just held on and rode it out with whatever level of self-soothing and community support I could muster.

When I was ready to practice again, I re-branded myself as and became a very different version of an RMT. The space and treatment style were an evolution of my lengthy experience working for so many different clinic and spa owners, but more so, who I became as a human who's done a decades worth of work through the various chapters of survival.

No lying here - we really hate charging you for treatment you didn't receive, but we get a massive surge of cancelations this time of year that could have been filled by another patient with the extra heads up.

Please give us 48hrs notice to any change or cancelation to your appointment. We hustle our hands off with an increased case load, scheduling tetris due to cold/flu season, and people maxing out their benefits (hello 5 massages in one month).

We see a lot of new faces, and these few months provide us with a good chunk of our income. Please communicate with us asap, so we can hopefully fill your spot to save you the cancelation fee!

Thank you for continuing to honour our practitioners, and for respecting our livelihoods ❤️
