This was my local haunt when I worked at the HMV Superstore at Yonge and Dundas. We still host HMV staff reunions at The Library upstairs.

I celebrated my 21st birthday here and the birthdays of many of my friends and coworkers.

I spent countless nights here before and after seeing shows at Massey Hall.

I'll miss the rooftop patio (and the fries!). Thanks for the memories, Imperial Pub. You served us well.

After 81 years the legendary Imperial Pub will be closing November 15th. An absolute institution of a place for all. A longtime spot for TMU students, a staple after Massey Hall shows, and for anyone needing a breather from the Yonge and Dundas chaos. If you want to say goodbye to The Library Bar or stare into the fish tank (don’t worry, the fish will have a safe new home. I asked.) Now’s the time. I’ll be swinging by again for a combo like noneother - Labatt 50 in the bottle and deep fried pickles.
The night I found out about the closure I bumped into my friend Ted who runs the great around the corner. It was a great night to reconnect and hang out at a space that holds so many memories for so many in this city. It was also a reminder to support the spaces that make Toronto what it was and what it is. Especially locally owned family businesses. The Imperial, we’ll miss you. Thank you for 81 years ♥️
