Let’s give a big round of applause for Rita!

We’re taking a moment to shine the spotlight on one of our amazing HeartLinks members and volunteers, Rita!

She’s gone above and beyond, raising an incredible $701 for the We Walk UNHITED campaign, the highest in our HeartLinks team so far!

Thanks to her outstanding fundraising efforts, Rita was entered into a draw and won tickets to a Toronto Maple Leafs game! Swipe to see her repping Green Shirt Day in style, proudly holding her sign and raising awareness for organ donation, heart transplantation, We Walk UHNITED and HeartLinks with pride. We couldn’t be more proud of the impact she’s making!

Introducing the “We Walk United” doll, Rita! 💛❤️

We thought we’d jump on the doll trend to celebrate her dedication in a unique and creative way. This limited-edition figure was made in Rita’s honour, a tribute to her spirit, leadership, and the incredible work she does in our community.

What an incredible day at the Pickleball tournament hosted by the Canadian Transplant Association - Ontario Division!

❤️🔗Our HeartLinks members, Brian, Katherine, and Shelly showed up and shined! Brian and Shelly played their hearts out, with Brian clinching first place alongside his partner Todd🥇, and Shelly securing second place with her partner Cindy🥈. Katherine socialized and cheered from the sidelines, dressed as a heart ❤️, adding a sweet touch of joy to the event.

This special day was also a wonderful lead up to Green Shirt Day, which we commemorate tomorrow. The event was not only about pickleball, it was about celebrating and supporting the incredible community of transplant recipients, donor families, and advocates. From amazing prizes to heartwarming stories, it was a day filled with unity, gratitude, hope and pickle flavoured snacks 😉

Thank you to Kathleen Zavarise .z4 , the CTA Ontario Director who made this event so special!

HeartLinks, April 7th is Green Shirt Day, a powerful day of awareness inspired by Logan Boulet. Logan was one of the Humboldt Broncos players involved in the tragic bus crash on April 6th, 2018. Before his passing, Logan registered as an organ donor, saving six lives. A selfless decision inspired by his late coach, Ric Suggit who also saved 6 lives. This act sparked the “Logan Boulet Effect” leading over 100K Canadians to register as organ donors in the weeks that followed. Green Shirt Day exists to honour Logan’s incredible legacy and raise awareness about the life saving impact of organ donation. It reminds us of the profound difference one person can make. As organ recipients, let us
reflect on the generosity of our donors and their families, whose
selflessness gave us the gift of life. Together, we can continue to raise
awareness and inspire others to make a difference. Show your support by leaving green hearts💚 in the comments below and
