What is an Herbal Protocol...
As a pet parent, you know that your dog is one of a kind. They have their own personality, their own quirks, and their own specific health needs. Because no two dogs are the same, a "one-size-fits-all" approach to wellness doesn't always provide results. That is why I create Custom Herbal Protocols.
What is a Custom Herbal Protocol?
Unlike a standard supplement you might find on a pet store shelf, a custom protocol is a tailored wellness strategy designed specifically for your dog. It’s a holistic roadmap that uses the power of plants to support your dog’s body from the inside out.
Why customization matters to dogs:
Energetics:
Some dogs are "hot" (panting, red skin, restless), while others are "cold" (seeking heat, sluggish). We choose herbs that balance your dog’s specific energetic constitution.
Safety first:
We ensure every herb in the protocol is dog-safe and won't interfere with any medications your dog is currently taking.
Addressing the root:
If your dog has itchy skin, we don’t just look at the skin—we look at their gut health, their immune system, elimination channels and their environment to find the "why" behind the itch.
What your dogs protocol includes:
The Formula:
A blend of herbs (usually as a tincture, gemmotherapy, powder, or capsule) selected to work in synergy for your dog's specific goals.
Feeding Strategy:
Precise instructions on dosage and administration or the best way to incorporate herbs into their meals for the picky eaters.
Lifestyle Recommendations:
Simple shifts in exercise, hydration, or diet that complement the herbal support.
The Goal:
Herbs work best when they are part of a relationship. A protocol is designed to gently nudge your dog’s body back into balance, supporting their vitality so they can get back to doing what they love—whether that’s hiking trails or napping in the sun.
Tips for success:
Be patient: Herbs are "slow medicine." While some changes happen quickly, true shifts in a dog's health often take 10-16 weeks of consistent use.
Observe: You are your dog's best advocate. Keep a journal of any changes you see in their energy, digestion, skin/coat, or mood!
