PUBLIC WORKS WEEK - MEET BRAD PURCHASE

Brad has been with the City of Quinte West since 2019 and has eight years of experience in water/wastewater treatment. He is the Superintendent of Wastewater Treatment.

As the Superintendent of Wastewater Treatment, Brad manages five wastewater treatment plants and 17 wastewater lift stations. Wastewater treatment plants are similar to a manufacturing plant, but instead of a product, it processes safe clean water.

A big part of Brad's job is public education and outreach. He hopes to give the general public a better understanding of operations and infrastructure for how things work and run. Here's a hint: flushable wipes are NOT necessarily flushable. They may flush; however, they can cause major havoc in the treatment plant!

Learn more about Brad and what he does at quintewest.site/MeetBrad.
