BUT...
I also spend most of the day drinking water. 💧
Eat a lot of fresh, real food. 🍅
Workout consistently on a weekly basis. 🏋️
Lift heavy things for fun. 💪

I don't preach restrictions and diets to Refire clients because it doesn't work for most people long term and also....life is short and food is good👌.

There is magic in the middle where you can take care of yourself and enjoy the good stuff too!

Forget all the influcencer talk...fruit is okay in your meal plan. Fruit isn’t just sweet. It’s powerful.

Every fruit has its own superpowers. Here’s a quick guide:

🍌 Banana – Potassium for muscles + energy for your workouts.
🍓 Strawberry – Vitamin C to keep your immune system strong and your skin glowing.
🍍 Pineapple – Bromelain for digestion and inflammation.
🥭 Mango – Vitamin A for vision and immune health.
🍎 Apple – Fiber to keep you full and your digestion happy.
🍇 Grapes – Antioxidants to fight free radicals and support heart health.
🍒 Cherries – Anti-inflammatory compounds for sore muscles after workouts.

Tip: Pair fruit with protein or healthy fat for better satiety and stable energy. Think apple + peanut butter, berries + Greek yogurt, or banana + almond butter.

Oof… some days really hit you, huh? I feel that.
One day you can be crushing it like a total badass in the gym. The next… you life can just come in swinging.

But that's why I constantly talk about habits!
Consistency is what actually wins.
Doing the healthy habits even when you really don’t want to? That’s the magic!

A simple way to get consistent? Figure out what’s actually tripping you up since then you'll be able to work with it instead of against it.

Is it…
Unrealistic expectations? Want a six-pack by tomorrow? Yeah… not gonna happen. Lofty goals are fun, impossible ones just set you up to quit. Aim for progress you can actually reach...slow and steady still counts.

Is it…
Life stuff getting in the way? Stress, no sleep, or grief? Happens to all of us. Don’t ignore it...deal with it. Your habits, your mental health, or yes, even professional help if you need it.

Or is it…

I've suffered a loss of another parent but know that my habits and movement will be what helps me move through the grief process.

Time and time again, movement saves me, even from myself. Sometimes it's moving slowly and sometimes it's kicking the absolute, ever living s**t out of this kick bag!

Calories In = the food + drinks you consume
Calories Out = what your body burns (existing, moving, training, digesting)

Fat loss, maintenance, or muscle gain all come down to the balance between those two. But here’s where people get confused…
Not all calories feel the same in your body.

🥦 Nutrient-dense foods = more vitamins, minerals, fibre, protein per calorie
Think: lean proteins, veggies, fruit, whole grains, healthy fats.
They keep you fuller, energized, and support muscle and metabolism.

🍩 Empty calories = high in sugar/fat, low in nutrients
They’re easy to overeat and don’t keep you full for long. They taste great but best if kept in moderation.

Calories provide us with information, but they are no what nutrition is all about. It’s about:
✔️ Portion awareness
✔️ Protein at most meals
✔️ Fibre daily
✔️ Not pretending you’ll never eat pizza again

Understanding calories doesn’t mean obsessing. It means making informed choices most of the time… so you can live your life the rest of the time. 🔥

I get that it can be hard to build that consistency! There was a time where I thought it was impossible to stick with daily healthy habits, but once I realized it wasn’t about perfection, but effort instead, the game changed for me!

Here’s how I stick with the Refire 5 Healthy Habits of : Moving More, Eating Well, Hydrating, Thinking Well and Sleeping Well.

MOVING MY BODY 🏋️‍♀️: I’m driven to stick to this habit because of how it makes me feel. It’s head clearing for me! It wasn’t always that way though. Once I found ways that I actually liked to workout, that’s when I got consistent. I love weight lifting and kickboxing. Use trial and error to find your thing and then rock on with it!

EATING WELL 🥦: It wasn’t until I learned that healthy eating doesn't mean you have to live on a diet of rabbit food that this habit formed! Again, it comes down to how I feel. If I eat well, I feel great. If I don’t, I think like a bag of crap.

DRINKING WATER 💦: I use a variety of reusable water bottles that are colourful and get my attention. As a visual creature – this works really well for me LOL. And guess what, this habit comes down to how it makes me feel as well (notice a pattern yet?!). I notice a huge difference in my energy levels when I don’t get enough water in a day.

THINKING POSITIVELY 🌞: Or at least staying neutral and reducing the negative thoughts! I stay consistent with this habit by celebrating my small wins (even the tiny ones), accomplishing small goals that I set regularly for myself and surrounding myself with people who have positive mindsets! Sometimes the negative thoughts get through, but I make sure not to live in them.

GETTING GOOD SLEEP 😴: This can be tricky, but going to bed around the same time each night and creating a routine helps. Good sleep does all kinds of wonders! Incorporate relaxing activities to signal to your mind and body that it's wind down time.
