Keeping food colourful is a good habit to start with. For each meal, try to incorporate as much colour as you can and you'll find yourself getting more fresh food.

🌈Mother nature includes the rainbow in what she grows...humans usually don't in the food they manufacture.

Here's a favourite dinner meal of mine: Stuffed Peppers!
They're easy since you can stuff them however you want. Google some ideas to inspire you, it really is endless!

I used what I had on hand for mine which included smoked meat, other veggies and cheese šŸ˜‹. You know, the stuff that warms the soul.

Your mindset about weight loss has likely lived in this cycle for quite some time...that you have to punish yourself to see any results.

But the actual truth is that healthy eating isn’t about punishment. It’s about discovering what fuels you nutrition wise including what gives you energy, clarity, and freedom without guilt.

That’s why I love this mindset reset and have taught it to many Refire clients over the years:

āœ… Balancing occasional treats without shame

What is Refire?
I knew when I started Refire Fitness that my mission was different than most trainers. I wasn't coming for body transformation pictures or bikini challenges.
Heck, I wasn't even coming for weight loss. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

What I was coming for was real life.
The messy, the chaos, the trying but failing, the mental health and all things heavy šŸ’Ŗ....
I want to hear that clients feel 100x stronger. That they glow. That they wake up feeling capable. That their clothes fit better and they breathe easier.

And I know that makes me different.
And I want that difference to speak to my clients. So I don't try to be anything I'm not.
I'm here to be authentic...tired - usually positive - trying - making mistakes but still showing up - probably with some pet hair and definitely with some sarcasm.

On a mission to cure , šŸ”„and create a of who are and !

For 2026, I am on a mission to prove that, with the right resources, you can be accountable to yourself for your health (not tied to a trainer or an app forever and ever!). Perhaps not the best business model if you ask some big wigs, but one I firmly believe in so that more people build real habits for life!

IGNITE kicks off the entire 2026 Refire Training Series.
It’s Phase 1 of 4 and every phase builds on the last so you actually get stronger, more confident, and more consistent… without burning yourself out.

Ever stare at a plate and think… how much is too much?
Here’s a quick tip that works anywhere, anytime: use your hands as a guide.

- Protein: about the size of your palm
- Carbs/starches: roughly the size of your fist
- Veggies: two cupped hands full
- Fats (oils, nut butter, cheese): about the size of your thumb

Why it works: no scale, no measuring cups, no stressing. Just your hands, always with you, always ready.

Portions like this help you eat enough to feel satisfied, fuel your day, and keep your body happy without overthinking. Because life happens, plates differ, and restaurants don’t come with instructions!

We’ve been sold the idea that ā€œfixingā€ your body image starts with shrinking your body.
But let’s be honest… most of us have lost weight before and still hated what we saw in the mirror.

Because body image isn’t a size problem.
It’s a self-respect, self-talk, and self-habits problem.

When you nourish your body (instead of punish it), wear clothes that make you feel like you, move in ways that bring joy instead of dread, and start catching the lies your brain likes to whisper…
Everything changes.

This is the real work.
The meaningful work.

And you deserve that.

There was a time when I didn’t know how to show up for myself.

I’d go through phases of being ā€œon itā€ ...meal prepping, training hard, trying to be superhuman...and then I’d crash.
Hard.

And every time I crashed, I’d think:
ā€œSee? You can’t do it. You’re not disciplined enough.ā€

But the older I got (aka the more responsibility I had), the more I realized:
It was NEVER about discipline.
It was that the systems I was trying to follow…were not designed for real life.

That’s when the way I train and teach changed.
That’s when Refire was born in 2017.
And that’s the heartbeat behind IGNITE coming in January 2026.

I don’t expect you to overhaul your life.
I won’t demand you become someone you’re not.
I won’t pretend you’re a robot with unlimited capacity.

We do this the real-life way.
The sustainable way.
The way that leaves room for mistakes, stress, and growth.
The way I live…every single day.

You show up imperfectly —
I’ll give you the structure.
Together?
We’ll make something consistent. šŸ’Ŗ

Eating like crap? Using food for comfort?
Been there and still do that sometimes!
But even if you're in that cycle and a little, nagging flame in you has you thinking about change, then you can start with small habit building to slowly make that flame rise šŸ”„.

Instead of signing up for a diet that will frustrate you or taking away all your favourite foods, I have something for you to try! And that's adding to your food, not taking away.

A first small habit to incorporate to your daily life right now, is eating veggies with every meal and snack.
That's it.
Whatever you're going to eat in a day, add some veggies to it. Doesn't matter which ones or how, just add'em in there! šŸ˜‹

If you become aware of adding more veggies to your food, you'll be increasing your connection to the food you eat, digesting a whack ton more vitamins and minerals and helping your digestive system. All without removing anything you love.

If you can master this habit, no matter how long it takes then you're a step ahead. Once it's a habit, you can use it to stack another habit on! And little by little, you'll make your way to a solid foundation of good habits to lean on......that's how you make the whole dang fire rise šŸ”„šŸ”„!
