Play Houses in Therapy🏡

Play houses are commonly used in therapy with children to support processing emotions, sharing stories, and making sense of the world.

Every therapy room at Family Tree therapy has a custom play house that was selected by the therapist of that room. Each therapist chose a house that they liked based on the clinical experience working with children and youth!

Therapist Spotlight: Therapist B

We’re so excited to share that Therapist B recently completed training in Nature-Based Play Therapy with Synergetic Play Therapy Institute!

This approach helps children express feelings through play, connect with nature, and regulate their emotions, all in a safe, supportive way. Through creative and sensory activities, kids can explore tough feelings, practice coping skills, and build confidence and resilience.

At Family Tree Therapy, we love finding ways to meet children where they are, because sometimes, the most powerful healing happens through play, not words 🌿

Child-centred therapy meets children where they are developmentally. Children are given space to lead in ways that feel natural to them, while the therapist provides structure, safety, and guidance. It’s not “just play,” but intentional, evidence-based support that helps children express themselves, build regulation, and feel understood.

The Willow Tree Room🌿

We’re so excited to share our third and final treatment space: the Willow Tree Room. Willow trees are often associated with resilience, flexibility, healing, and emotional strength, bending without breaking and thriving near water.

Each of our rooms has been thoughtfully designed with intention and care, and we can’t wait to use this space to support clients and families as they grow, heal, and reconnect.
