Unconditional positive regard is such a powerful part of therapy. It’s the verbal & nonverbal signals to our brain that say “you’re here! Whatever you’re feeling, however you’re doing, is welcome.” When a child walks into the door for their appointment, they get smiles, tail wags and absolute delight.

Winston and I are going on an adventure together to provide 🐾 Animal-Assisted Therapy 🐾 to children & youth!

Winston is an Aussie Bernadoodle pup who loves meeting new friends. He’s a gentle greeter when children walk in the door for therapy. Winston supports co-regulation, playfulness and compassion.

He’s still learning (we both are!) so he occasionally needs reminders not to nibble the puppets 🧸 It’s a great opportunity to discuss how we’re all working on something 💖 Stay tuned for more information on Animal-Assisted therapy.

*Animal-Assisted therapy may not be a fit for everyone. I will always check in with parents & kids before Winston is introduced into any session.

I am so excited to share a new partnership that will increase access to child-centered therapy for families in our community. B Hope (she/they) is a local registered psychotherapist (qualifying) who will be partnering with me at the office to offer:

🎨Therapy that utilizes art, play and nature to support whole-child wellness
🧠 A neurobiology and identity-affirming approach informed by child development
🗓️ They will have availability on Fridays and Saturdays

It’s been an incredible first year in the new office 💖 I’ve had so much fun setting up and developing an entire practice around kids and what they need to thrive in therapy. Thank you to all the families that put their trust in me.
