I have been a First Aid Instructor since 2005 teaching public, business and community services. I am a graduate from St. Clair College`s Paramedic program, and later to Ornge Aeromedical program. Diseases can enter the body in four ways:
1) Through direct contact with an infected person’s body fluids.
2) Through indirect contact with an object that was contaminated by blood or bodily fluids from an infected person.
3) Airborne contact, when an infected person coughs or sneezes.
4) Vector contact, where an animal, insect, or human transmits a disease through a bite.
Whenever you’re treating anyone for first aid or CPR, stay safe by using the proper barrier devices such as gloves and masks.
