Did you know that my space includes a small, ever-growing library you’re always welcome to explore? The selection has grown even bigger since this photo was taken! 📖

This is something I’ve offered for a while, a shelf of books you can borrow and take with you between sessions if it feels supportive.

There’s no pressure to read, no “homework,” and no strict timelines. Just an open invitation to get curious, find language for your experiences, or connect with something that resonates.

Some people love bringing a piece of the work home with them in this way, and some don’t, both are completely okay!

Feel free to browse before or after your session anytime.

Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all.

My approach is flexible, collaborative, and trauma-informed, meaning we shape the process together based on what feels most supportive for you. I believe healing happens when you feel safe enough to explore your experiences with curiosity, compassion, and connection.

In our work together, we may draw from a range of modalities, including DBT skills, somatic mindfulness, parts work, and creative expression through art, to help you better understand your emotions, reconnect with yourself, and build tools for navigating life’s challenges.

Every person’s healing journey is unique, and therapy can be a space to slow down, get curious, and discover what supports you best.

✨️ I'm still accepting clients in-person and virtually across Ontario! Reach out privately if you'd like to book a free 20-minute consultation with me ✨️

I’m away this weekend attending the Sexual Assault Centre for Quinte and District (SACQD) Board Retreat at Paths of Courage.

This time is dedicated to planning, reflection, and strengthening the work we do to support survivors in our community. Because of this, I’ll have limited access to the internet and may be slower to respond to messages!

Take care, slow down, and be well ♡

We are so excited to announce this year's Quinte Coordinating Committee Against Violence Education Day! This full-day event is on Friday, March 27th at The Grand in Belleville.

This year, we have guest speakers from three different organizations discussing the realities, common practices, gaps, and changes in sexual assault cases in Ontario. We are grateful for this day of knowledge sharing, and we look forward to the opportunity to gather as a community to share stories and paths forward. The day will end with a panel of local Executive Directors from Three Oaks Foundation, Alternatives for Women, Victim Services HPELA, and Sexual Assault Centre for Quinte and District.

Tickets are open to the public, and all proceeds go to the Quinte District Victims Fund.

Tickets are available at: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/qccav-education-day-sexual-assault-trials-in-ontario-tickets-1982193339638?aff=ebdssbdestsearch

I am honoured to attend the Global Leadership Exchange 2026 in Canada as part of the Peer & Lived Experience Leadership match. This international event (June 1–5, 2026) carries the theme “Ideas to action: inspiring leaders to mobilize collective solutions”. It kicks off with immersive Matches across Canada on June 1–2, followed by a Network Meeting in Ottawa on June 3–5. I never imagined my journey as a survivor of familial and gender-based violence would open such doors, this opportunity is deeply humbling and inspiring.

Co-hosted by Habitus Collective and CAMH’s Empowerment Council (with support from Peer Support Canada), this Match will “bring together international peer and lived experience leaders and their allies to co-create possible futures for lived-experience-peer leadership." I am grateful for the chance to stand alongside fellow leaders from around the globe and help shape a future where survivor voices directly contribute to community initiatives.

I can't wait to post more about this exciting opportunity closer to.

One of the things I deeply value about my private practice is that healing doesn’t happen in isolation.

In my office, I have a community board dedicated to local resources across the Bay of Quinte area: shelters, legal supports, parenting resources, crisis services, financial assistance, program referrsls, and more. Because healing isn’t just about processing emotions, it’s also about knowing where to turn to in our communities.

If you’re navigating:

• relationship transitions
• housing insecurity
• financial stress
• prenatal and postpartum shifts
• trauma recovery
• system overwhelm
• or simply not knowing what support exists

You don’t have to figure it out by yourself!!

As a practitioner rooted in social work, I’m here not only to hold space emotionally, but to help guide, connect, and advocate when needed. Therapy and counselling can also mean referrals, resource navigation, collaborative safety planning, and practical next steps.

Support is allowed to be relational.
Support is allowed to be informed.

If you’re looking for a space where your emotional world and real-world stressors are both honoured, I’d be happy to connect.

Therapy should be accessible, not another barrier.

One of the biggest reasons people delay starting therapy is cost. I get that, I've been there. In fact, I had to solely rely on goverment funded programs in my 20s because I didn't have benefits and had very low income. That’s why I offer limited sliding scale spots in my private practice.

Sliding scale is one way I try to reduce financial barriers so support can feel more possible, especially during seasons where money is tight but support is needed most.

If you’ve been wondering whether therapy might be within reach for you, I invite you to inquire. We can have a transparent, compassionate conversation about options and see what feels realistic and supportive. No judgment, just options.

Feel free to send me a DM or email me at erika@care-connect.ca and inquire.
