Swedish Massage
Consisting of a variety of depths, Swedish massage can provide therapeutic benefits directly via physical tissue manipulation, as well as indirectly via communication with the central nervous system. Myofascial Release
Have you ever wondered what holds your body together? In large part, it's

connective tissue, or fascia... Can you imagine how extensively such an important part of your body could influence the way it feels? Sports Massage
An increased demand on muscles requires increased blood, oxygen & nutrient circulation, as well as waste removal. Stimulation and muscle balancing techniques can help the muscles perform and recover more efficiently. Myofascial Cupping
Not only can we push, we can pull on tissue using negative-pressure suction, resulting in increased circulation, waste removal, scar tissue/adhesion breakdown & better leverage in achieving muscle release

Indian Head Massage
With a decrease in tension where we so often carry it (in our head, neck, shoulders... even our face!), we can enjoy relief all throughout the body; not to mention stimulation of various bodily systems such as the immune, digestive, endocrine & parasympathetic (rest & digest) nervous system

Manual Lymph Drainage
Lymph is a fluid that circulates our body to keep its every little corner clean, and acts as a vehicle for our immune response. Some systemic conditions, musculoskeletal restrictions, injuries or surgeries can result in swelling: a local accumulation of this fluid which can negatively impact tissue health & comfort. We can assist lymph drainage manually with this gentle modality. Aromatherapy
With the use of quality essential oils, we can enjoy a multitude of physiological benefits through direct inhalation as well as topical absorption

Thai Massage & Suikodo
As alternative approaches to mainstream Western therapy, Thai Massage & Suikodo work through Sen lines and neuromeridians respectively.

Hey everyone 🌞

I will be taking some time to reconnect, recharge & recalibrate next month, as many shifts are taking place.
I will no longer be available full-time at my office, but I will share updates about my accessibility between Truro & Tatamagouche as they arise!

I apologize for any inconvenience, and appreciate your understanding.

Wishing you all the most restorative summer 🙏

P.s. here’s a nice homage to the new set up! 📸

Waitlists!

Hey guys, there’s a great feature I recommend you customize in the menu on the booking website - waitlists!

You can select timeframes when you’re usually available for a treatment and I can send a notification to those who match some windows of opportunity!

Will be used in moderation 😌

You know what it’s like when you rest in the wrong position? 😖

Imagine resting in the right position 😌

We often “wear our shoulders as earrings” when we’re stressed or tense - make it difficult for that to happen by holding your chest high instead!

Hi Truro, for anyone who’d like to verify, I am a Registered Massage Therapist with the National Health Practitioners of Canada (NHPC) with provider number 26335. I pay my dues, you’re able to be reimbursed for your treatments and I have liability insurance.

I am unable to defend my name on a public group as I don’t have access/was blocked for what I can only imagine was a disagreement with a mere one or two political hot takes I contributed. I don’t regret standing for what I believe in, which is having optimized public care & well-being…
big thanks to the admins!

So I will make it clear here, so that you know what to expect - even if completely unintentional, I will kindly express my discomfort with and boundaries around inappropriate language especially when loudly projected from the open door in my professional office building, so as not to be misconstrued.

…If that makes me a basket case, fine… but I don’t think it warrants a report to the massage association I have good active standing with nor online defamation nearly 2 years later. I mean no harm to anybody - if you’ve had a bad experience with me, just let me know, I’m willing to come to a cordial understanding.

My character & career are major aspects of my life, so I want to provide some clarity. This is not a message I wanted to share, I don’t think it should have been necessary, but I will continue trying my best to live my truth.

I am grateful to every person who allows me to make a positive difference in their lives - I only have the best intentions for each of you - thank you for trusting me with your care 🙏

You’ve got to explore and push the bounds of your comfort zone, it’s bigger than you think, and if you don’t it will shrink..

We need to provide some expansion for inevitable contraction periods (ie. stress)
so we don’t become a lil bug stuck in the web

🌟 game-changer alert! 🌟

This is how we should envision our frontside vs backside
(in green)

In terms of function,
It’s not just the back “half” and the front “half”:
Our backside is behind our spine, and our front, in front of it!

When we readjust our posture from closed&slouched to open&tall,
we lengthen the frontside and contract the back

It helps to extend your visualization this way and bloom like a flower 🌺

From our origin, the spine! Pull it all back

The best way to reset your whole body posture on the spot

Is simply to pretend you are being pulled up by a string from the crown of your head

One of the most powerful things we can do is to be conscious of our subconscious

11/06/2024

You aren’t always lifting boxes, but you are hunched over the sink on a regular basis 🤔

Not to mention just standing up...

Most of our bodyweight is above the hips, and we are always carrying it - the pelvis is our supportive tabletop where we can set it down

As you can imagine, the table is futile if we don’t recruit the legs
(& glutes/core for stability)

Instead of being stacked, the spine essentially topples over, but instead of falling apart… all that upper body weight hangs from our frame & most often our back muscles and fascia are straining to keep us upright

It can take some work to adjust these tendencies, but if we don’t do it, it's our sorest muscles that are left to compensate

Don’t work so hard!
Remember to take advantage of your foundation 💪🏗
Live with improved balance, comfort & function

11/01/2024

It matters how we spend every moment, for our state is comprised of an accumulation of them, not only moments of intensity
