Inspector Bruce Lake was presented with the prestigious Carnegie Medal at a recent Truro Police Board meeting. The Carnegie Medal is awarded to civilians who risk death or serious physical injury to an extraordinary degree saving or attempting to save the lives of others. This award is considered one of the highest civilian honors in the US and Canada.

Inspector Lake rescued and saved the life of a young woman from rushing river waters in Fundy National Park, NB last summer while off duty.

Pictured is Chief Dave MacNeil and Police Board Vice Chair Bill Thomas presenting Inspector Lake with the medal.
