Well said from our colleague

People who have chronic illness deal with daily battles you know nothing about.

Cancelled plans = guilt, disappointment, and frustration

Intense fatigue, pain, or other symptoms = lost income, lost relationships, lost experiences

Sharing about illness and symptoms = seeking understanding, not attention or sympathy

Good days = hope, desire to do ALL THE THINGS and then paying dearly for it and dealing with the disappointment and frustration of not being able to do what you used to.

People expecting "normal" from you = feeling like a constant disappointment and burden for not being able to keep connected with everyone or for needing help but feeling unable to ask for it.

People who are chronically ill do not want to be isolated, cancel plans, be unable to keep up with housework, or nap all day. We are just trying to make it through life with what we have. Please be gentle and understanding with us. ❤️
